First of all, natural language is the basic tool for human social communication. Have rich expressive ability and flexible logical reasoning ability. Compared with natural language, GIS language pays more attention to the processing and analysis of geospatial data, so its communication and reasoning are relatively limited. Therefore, GIS language can not replace the role of natural language in daily life and intelligent communication.
Secondly, the map language is a visual language, which expresses the geographical spatial relationship through map symbols and legends. Map language can convey geographical information intuitively and help people understand the distribution, relationship and change of geographical space. Compared with map language, GIS language pays more attention to data analysis and operation, and cannot directly provide visual map display effect. Therefore, map language is still an indispensable tool in scenes that need map display and spatial visualization.
To sum up, GIS language cannot completely replace the functions of natural language and map language. Instead, as a tool focusing on geospatial data processing and analysis, it can be used together with natural language and map language to better meet the needs of geographic information processing and communication under different scenarios and needs.
