Obviously, Wang Demin has a clever mind. He is proficient in English and Chinese. What did he learn after that? It was almost impossible to beat him.
Therefore, he has always maintained excellent results in all his subjects.
He did well in the college entrance examination, and the schools he wants to attend are Tsinghua and Peking University. At that time, I applied for the Physics Department of Peking University and the Water Conservancy Department of Tsinghua.
His college entrance examination scores are almost perfect, far exceeding the admission lines of Tsinghua and Peking University. However, in the end, he was rejected. The reason for refusing is that the blood is not pure, after all, it is a Chinese-Swedish mixed race!
Now we may not understand such a thing. However, we can't ignore time. He took the college entrance examination 1955.
At that time, the assessment of political status was very strict. Especially Tsinghua and Peking University, the best institutions of higher learning in China!
In this way, he missed out on Tsinghua Peking University. Fortunately, he was admitted to Beijing Petroleum Institute, although he didn't want to go to this school at that time and didn't want to study petroleum production related majors.
However, since petrology chose him, even if it is unwilling, it can only be accepted silently. In fact, Wang Demin has always been optimistic. I didn't expect to become attached to oil in this way, so let's give full play to our talents and ambitions in the oil industry.
Being able to get the grades of Tsinghua Peking University and finally going to Beijing Petroleum Institute, it's hard to excel in college. I have a good foundation, plus I study hard and know how to study hard. His college grades are almost full marks, and he graduated from this school with full marks.
After he graduated, the school wanted to keep him. Obviously, such excellent talents are rare.
However, in the end, he chose to look outside.
He didn't choose to stay in school because he wanted to practice in the oil field. At that time, he went to Daqing Oilfield where the conditions were relatively difficult.
It can be said that it was in Daqing Oilfield that he created many great miracles.

196 1 February, Wang Demin developed a formula for calculating oil well pressure, commonly known as "Songliao method". Before this formula came out, we all used the internationally accepted "Henoch method".
However, this algorithm is not suitable for Daqing Oilfield. It was in this case that he studied Russian independently and spent more than 100 days working out the "Songliao method" which is in line with our Daqing Oilfield.
1963, a set of technologies, such as multi-reservoir oil testing and oil-water well layered testing, have been developed successively, filling the gap that domestic oil wells with packers cannot be layered tested.
At the beginning of 1970, Wang Demin led his colleagues to tackle the problems of formation pressure decline, crude oil production decline and water cut increase in Daqing Oilfield for more than a year. After thousands of experiments, China's own eccentric water distributor was successfully developed. This eccentric water distribution technology won the second prize of national invention. After Daqing Oilfield entered the middle water cut production period (the water content of crude oil exceeded 20%), he and the staff of the whole hospital made more than 20 scientific research achievements, three of which reached the international advanced level.
Of course, there are many achievements he has made, so we won't list them one by one.
What does this mean?
Gold always shines. A talented person, Rainbow Deming, can achieve something in any industry.
His professional knowledge also coincided with the historical development opportunities at that time. At that time, Daqing Oilfield was in a critical period of development.
Not only before, but even now, as long as talents, no matter in which industry, can create some achievements.
So majors and schools are nothing to real talents. What is more important is your own cognition, knowledge, your own choice and your final action.
Of course, it is undeniable that today's college students are different from those in Wang Demin at that time. Generally speaking, the comprehensive ability of college students is not as high as that of former college students.
