Zijin County is a county under the jurisdiction of Heyuan City, Guangdong Province. It is located in the central and eastern part of Guangdong Province, southeast of Heyuan City, east bank of the middle reaches of Dongjiang River and upper reaches of Hanjiang River, and is the birthplace of Hanjiang River. With a total area of 3635. 13 square kilometers, it is located in the subtropical monsoon climate zone. There will be 16 towns and 270 village (neighborhood) committees in 2020.
There are 16 towns, 245 village committees, 25 community neighborhood committees and 4,288 village (residential) groups in the county (excluding Guzhu Town and Linjiang Town in Jiangdong New District). The county government is stationed in Zicheng Town. Linjiang Town and Guzhu Town are actually managed by Jiangdong New District.
Historical evolution of Zijin county
In the first year of the Republic of China (19 12), Yong 'an County (now Zijin County) was the viceroy of Guangdong Province.
In the third year of the Republic of China (19 14), Yong 'an County was changed to Zijin County, which belongs to Chaoshun Road.
In the 15th year of the Republic of China (1926), Zijin County was under the Dongjiang Administrative Office.
In the 26th year of the Republic of China (1937), Zijin County was the fourth administrative supervision area.
1949, Zijin county was changed to the second administrative supervision area. In May of the same year, Zijin County was liberated and belonged to Dongjiang District.
1952, Zijin County was changed to Yuedong Administrative Region.
1956, Zijin county belongs to Huiyang district.
1959, Zijin county was changed to Shantou area.
1963, Zijin county belongs to Huiyang area.
From 65438 to 0988, Zijin County became the county under the jurisdiction of Heyuan City.
