"Senior Students Group" and Its Concept of Caring for Society

We all know that university is synonymous with "higher education", and once "university" was a sacred noun. Comparatively speaking, primary school, junior high school and senior high school are all primary education. Universities have more relaxed teaching environment, more active student organizations and broader development space, among which the most representative is the rich community culture in universities. With the reform and development of education, many high schools began to create a more free educational environment for students, which not only enriched their knowledge, but also enriched their lives and souls. Many active student associations have expanded rapidly in high schools.

I used to study in Shenzhen Middle School. The most influential student organization in Shenzhen, besides the Model United Nations, the Student Union and the Pioneer Middle School International Roundtable, is the "Senior Students' Group", which was founded by Wang Xinhong, a teacher of the school psychological counseling center. The concept of "senior" comes from abroad. Every year, our school sends an education delegation to study abroad, and it is found that English schools such as Eton College have carried out this educational tradition and learned from Raffles College's "Senior League".

The high school attached to Peking University also has the organizational form of senior students' union, and its teaching concept and mode are relatively advanced, which is quite good in innovation, activity and thinking. Judging from the collected data, many senior high schools have also set up the organization form of "senior group". Although it is not as famous as the affiliated middle school of Peking University, it is also aware of the role of the senior group in the campus. I also checked the high school rankings of 20 15, and found that Changsha Yali Middle School, Beijing No.4 Middle School, Guangdong Huashi High School, Xi 'an Gaoxin No.1 Middle School and Beijing 10 1 are among the top 100. Although I didn't check their detailed information about the "Senior League", I still had some contact with these middle schools. It can be said that their campus atmosphere is somewhat similar to universities, active student organizations, sparks of speculation, excellent academic standards, and of course.

The senior three group is voluntarily joined by outstanding students in senior two. The prerequisite for joining is that the average GPA is above 4.0 and the perfect GPA is 5.0. In the next semester of senior one, about 60 students were selected by the previous senior three interviews. The quality that selected students must possess is mainly "the power of love". They will lead the next freshmen into high school, adapt to high school life, pass on campus culture from generation to generation, increase the vertical connection between grades and enhance campus cohesion. In addition, in order to increase the attraction, the senior students' group provided a wealth of hours and qualification certificates, which played a key role in students' graduation and evaluation. In management, although sophomores have full control, technical support and guidance are provided by the school psychological counseling room, and the school provides material resources such as venues.

Quasi-senior students will have "team training" about a week before the freshmen enter school. For example, everyone will sit in a circle on the lap of the person behind. For example, a group of four people will keep a balance in the abbreviated newspaper, and there may be a circle to talk about various topics at night, so they will break the ice for about five days and meet a team. For the remaining two days, the freshmen's military training was prepared by the senior group, and the uniforms and beds were raised by the senior from the first floor to the dormitory on each floor. At this time, freshmen have not yet entered school. On the day of freshmen's admission, the seniors' group lined up on campus to welcome them and answer their doubts. After the freshmen go through the accommodation formalities, the first stage of the work of the senior group is completed.

Next, start the military training for freshmen, which belongs to the military training time during the day. Before each meal, the senior group will dance at the entrance of the canteen until the freshmen finish eating. After dinner, freshmen can change into their own clothes and have "team training" in the classroom, with three or four seniors in charge of each class. The proportion of men and women is even, and activities are mainly carried out in the form of games. The content is similar to that of the senior group. Here are a few representative ones.

A newspaper with four people standing. There must be four men and women in each group, and each round of challenge should be balanced for five seconds. After success, half of them will be torn until they can't make it to the end. The purpose of this activity is to increase people's physical contact semi-compulsively, shorten people's physical distance quickly and get rid of psychological shyness;

2 jigsaw puzzle contest. The whole class is divided into several groups, and five people compete in a jigsaw puzzle, but they are not told in advance that all the puzzles in each group have to be added up to make a complete picture. After a while, some groups began to find something wrong, and then the whole class would cooperate and finally complete the puzzle. This activity aims to stimulate the sense of teamwork. Small teams can still seek greater teamwork, and the concept of "team" is relative.

③ Famous brand games. Everyone will hang their own famous brand written in calligraphy font, and five people will form a circle. After introducing themselves to each other, they will play the name game of "passing parcels", and the speed will gradually accelerate. People who make mistakes must choose truth or big adventure. At the end of the game, everyone will be found chatting, while the senior group will observe from the rear, identify the freshmen who are prone to "autism" and record their names to help them integrate into the group. This activity aims to help break unfamiliar psychological barriers among freshmen, especially in remembering names. Famous brands visualize names, avoiding the embarrassment of asking questions, and the gameplay increases the stimulation of hearing and touch, which enhances the memory of names.

During the activity, the monitor and deputy monitor will be elected by election, and then the monitor and deputy monitor will be responsible for selecting the rest of the class cadres. As a behind-the-scenes observer, the head teacher will try to remember the names of each classmate and form a general impression on the class and classmates' personalities. Of course, seniors will also show the history of the campus and every corner and story in her body in the form of slides, whether sad or happy, teasing the school's rules and regulations and schedules, and most importantly, passing on the school spirit with a little personal imprint to freshmen. Among them, there will be some large-scale school-based activities, such as the whole school's rabbit dance, or the whole school's "Thanksgiving Sharing Night", aiming at increasing the connection between freshmen and breaking the limitations of classes.

Talk about some of my personal experiences and views on the senior students' group.

When I entered the school, I personally felt that I was a representative "science man". With reason and excellent thinking and judgment, I was swept away, but I was rather slow in the face of emotional expression. Therefore, on the first day of school, coupled with the "fear" of unfamiliar environment, I am unwilling to communicate with my classmates. However, the welcome appearance of the senior group really touched me deeply. Warm smiles and confident gestures are full of sunshine and the whole campus. After the activity, I quickly integrated into the group and found the so-called sense of collective belonging. After entering the colorful high school life, we have been looking for the best balance between our studies and activities. Our studies are getting heavier and heavier, and we love life. The seniors in the senior group have been silently supporting us, imparting experience, inspiring us and guiding us to plan our own lives. After a school year, we have benefited a lot, and the seniors have also been promoted to the third year of high school, fighting for their own ideals in life. The baton of the "Senior League" was handed over to us, so we passed everything they gave us to the next class, quietly waiting for it to take root in the hearts of our siblings, and then passed it on from generation to generation, with our expectations, the spirit of the school and the power of love.

Since high schools can have "seniors' groups", why can't universities have them? So let me first analyze some problems that may be encountered in the implementation of the "senior group" in the university environment:

(1) "Autonomy" and "Diversity". Universities have two important characteristics, one is autonomy, but the other is diversity. Learning emphasizes autonomy. Similarly, the mainstream view of education holds that universities are "semi-socialized" and college students should have considerable autonomy in life. Everyone has his own goals, ideals and plans, and the world outlook, outlook on life and values have been divided. This is the meaning of "pluralism". After all, high school is different from college. Under the pressure of college entrance examination, "autonomy" is only relative. The pressure of students' "diversification" is not as good as that of universities, and they have to go through the transition of socialization and future choices. Therefore, it is easier to organize such a voluntary "senior group" in high school. In universities, referring to two important characteristics of universities, many students may pay more attention to their own development, and social interaction is controlled within a certain proportion, so it is difficult to organize such organizations that devote their time and energy to influencing others. Through comparison, we can see that the status quo of love society is similar. "At the feast, a batch of dead, a batch of dead before and after the exam. There are not many people in the end. " I still remember what the president said at the welcome meeting, and the tone of ridicule revealed how much helplessness. I think this is the underlying reason.

(2) The lack of campus cultural atmosphere leads to the prevalence of scientific thinking. Universities can be simply divided into comprehensive universities, science and engineering universities and liberal arts universities. It is also said that "natural science endows people with rigor and rationality, while humanities endows people with soundness and sensibility". In a comprehensive environment, if there is "moisture" in humanities and social sciences, it will create a profound cultural atmosphere and make it easier for students to identify with the values of dedication, care and love. However, in the prevailing environment of science and engineering, rationality and rigor occupy most of the site, and students are used to analyzing advantages and disadvantages and calculating the best scheme. However, being too rational has a "blind spot". Too rational analysis of the pros and cons will go beyond many valuable things in human emotions, and pay, care and love cannot be calculated clearly. Therefore, in science and engineering universities, there is often a saying of "science and engineering men", which refers to those boys with extraordinary intelligence but poor mood. Moreover, it is often said that "Xidian" lacks cultural atmosphere and humanistic function. It is not enough to inherit culture by military training alone. The campus blackboard newspaper is a good form, but in comparison, the form is still lack of diversity and the overall cultural atmosphere is not strong.

③ Different school backgrounds have created different campus cultures. As we all know, the predecessor of Peking University was Shi Jing University Library, and its establishment was one of the "New Deal" measures of the Reform Movement of 1898. Later, Shi Jing Wentong Library was merged, and its curriculum arrangement was initially concrete, which was no longer limited to Confucius, Mencius, Four Books and Five Classics in a narrow sense, but included natural science and language courses. In the next few years until today, Mr. Cai Yuanpei's "freedom of thought and inclusiveness" still reverberates in the hearts of every Peking University student. Tsinghua University was founded on the basis of "boxer indemnity", formerly known as "Tsinghua School". It is a preparatory school for studying in the United States founded by the Qing government. With the motto of "self-improvement, morality and morality", its strong and unyielding academic style has been passed down to this day. Naturally, every university has its own history, and the strong historical inertia washes out completely different campus culture. Naturally, not every piece of soil is suitable for the development of the "elderly group". Looking back at the history of Xidian, the predecessor of Xidian was born in 193 1 Jiangxi Ruijin Central Military Commission Broadcasting School. It has a glorious revolutionary tradition and military style, so it is often heard of "Western military forces". It is not easy for such a cultural soil to make the "old clan" culture take root.

(4) The campus is organized in the form of colleges and classes. There are no fixed classes, and the class system is adopted. The management mode of senior group is no longer applicable. As mentioned earlier, the size of the senior group is about 60, but at that time, in high school, if you go to college, this organizational form will no longer work, and some classes 120 students or the ratio of men and women is extremely uneven, which is not conducive to the competition.

In the above, I have listed four problems that universities may encounter in implementing the "Senior League" activities, but having problems does not mean that it will not work. At least in my opinion, the "senior group" embodies some qualities that universities and even our society lack now. As far as Xidian is concerned, I will also make a detailed analysis of the above four points. If we have a sense of crisis, we can deduce that the lack of a "nourishing" environment of cultural atmosphere will weaken the strength of Xidian on the other hand, and the lack of emotional power will especially cause indifference effect in group society, which is not conducive to the development of university society. Schools without "humanistic care" will not go far. Therefore, problems also mean opportunities.

Autonomy and diversity are undeniable, so the "senior group" must also change its form, to say the least, to reduce the personal "emotional fetters" bound by the organizational form of the senior group. Considering that its connotation is consistent with caring for society, it will play its role in the form of caring for society, increase its freedom, and transform the mode of student organization into the form of gold medal activities of associations. This is more conducive to the initial embedding of the "senior group" model.

The usual activities of Love Society are mainly organized by various departments. In fact, the relationship between departments is not so close, not to mention that everyone in society knows each other. Therefore, the activity of "Senior Students' Group" just provides an opportunity for teamwork, closely combines the members of the group, expands the circle of communication, and increases the frequency of information exchange. Daily communication and play are more face-to-face than water groups. In fact, the heart is strange. Secondly, once all the members of the club are called together, there will be enough people to arrange the task. Let's discuss how many people should be in a group and how many freshmen should be brought to participate in the activities. If there are not enough people, we can use posters or even lectures to recruit people. If there are more people, you can organize "team training" in the club to narrow the distance between them and form a team.

The initial stage of the activity was very difficult, and popularity was an important factor. Activities must form a "brand" through time to occupy a place in students' minds, so correspondingly, the promotion of WeChat platform and QQ platform should also be followed up. Secondly, we should also make appropriate extra points and class hour certificates to meet the needs of students' self-development and self-proof. Once students realize the value of the "senior group" activities, they will have a steady stream of vitality.

The activities of the "Senior Students' Group" must obtain professional technical support from the psychological counseling room, because the psychology of college students is more complicated and this activity requires higher psychological level. Psychological counselors will provide more professional guidance and suggestions for our activities.

Secondly, I think this activity needs the support of the school, because the best starting point is military training. It is only at this time that students have the highest degree of aggregation, and at the same time they are in urgent need of guidance from the college entrance examination. More importantly, sophomores are relatively free during the military training of freshmen, and they will not be as strict in charge of the next class as the "Senior Three Group" after the activity, but only as an activity to ensure the "autonomy" and "diversity" of college students. According to my observation, the school has not done a good job in guiding freshmen to enter school. The inheritance of campus culture is nothing more than a "military training singing competition", where songs are put on the playground, blackboard newspapers are held, and experience is shared with listening guides and national defense students. Therefore, learning from experience, we can tell the school the value of the "senior group" and strive for the school's consent. We can take out two or three nights of military training, take a hot bath after dinner, change into our own clothes and show our personality. Members of the Love Society will organize "team training" in the playground or classroom respectively. The specific content can be adjusted or innovated with reference to "activities and organizational forms of group for the elderly", and the organizational forms of activities can be further discussed at the meeting.

It will take time to form such a situation, but I can see that it is a brave move to combine the "senior student group" with the love society. Secondly, if Aishe can really shoulder this responsibility, it will have a far-reaching impact on the cultural atmosphere of the campus, and both Xidian and Aishe will usher in an innovation.

(1) If you want to know more about the campus culture of my high school, Shenzhen Middle School, you can read the article My View on Deep Middle School written by Xiao Sheng. He should be a graduate of 20 14, formerly known as Zhong Dalu. He was selected as one of the top ten singers in Shenzhen and China, and now he is studying in Shaanxi Normal University. I hope that in the future, Xidian can achieve the same cultural atmosphere, so much the better.
