Interview with professional figures is a kind of career exploration activity to obtain "internal" information about a certain industry, occupation and unit by talking with a certain number of professionals (usually professional practitioners who are interested in it). Through the interview, it is actually an indirect and rapid professional experience to get to know the actual work situation of this professional position, obtain information in related professional fields, and then judge whether you are really interested in this job.
I. Theme
Understand society, explore career, promote planning and grasp life.
Second, the purpose of the activity
Career interview is a self-help platform for college students' career choice and orientation, a link in career planning during school, and an effective channel to obtain career information. Its purpose is to let students know and understand the social needs, professional needs, professional environment and basic conditions, to help job seekers (especially college students) check and confirm the information obtained through other channels before, and to understand the special problems or needs related to future work, such as potential entry standards, core quality requirements, promotion paths, etc. Through interviews with career figures, we can also correctly understand our own strengths and weaknesses, so as to make more reasonable plans for university study and life.
Fourth, the operation process
1, know and understand yourself.
Strengthen your understanding and understanding of yourself. You can use certain tools (such as Holland's career orientation test, professional ability scale, professional values self-test scale or evaluation software) to analyze your interests, personality, skills and work values. (Note: You can use various evaluation tools or software, but you can't be superstitious. )
Step 2 look for professionals
Combine your interests, skills, work values, academic qualifications and professional knowledge, list several possible careers in the future, and then find more than three on-the-job people in each professional field as professional figures. Professional figures can be their relatives, teachers and friends, or others recommended by themselves. Other professionals can look for them with the help of trade associations, large alumni records or the website of a specific institution.
(Note: A career figure's career should be what he yearns for. Professional figures in various professional fields should have a reasonable structure, including those who have just entered the workplace and middle and high-level people who have worked for a certain number of years; Before a formal interview, the more comprehensive the professional information, the better. Name, position and contact information are required. We should try our best to collect and be familiar with the information that can be obtained from speeches and articles of professional figures or from mass media and unit websites. )
3. Draft an interview outline.
In combination with the interview design of the target occupation information, the interview of professional figures can be conducted around the following points: industry, unit name, occupation (post), nature and type of work, main content, location, time, qualification, required skills, market prospect, industry-related information, working environment, work intensity, welfare, work experience, employee satisfaction, etc. (Please refer to Annex I for details)
4. Make an appointment for an interview on site
Reservations can be made by telephone, QQ, email and ordinary mail, among which telephone reservation is the best. When making an appointment, introduce yourself first, then explain the way to find him, the purpose of your interview, the type of work you are interested in and the time for the interview (usually about 30 minutes), and confirm the date, time and place of the interview. (Note: Be fully prepared before contacting, and prepare paper and pen for temporary telephone interview when contacting by telephone; Contact must be polite and brief. )
Interview can be face to face, telephone interview, QQ interview, preferably face to face. Before the interview, the interviewer can usually use the good news of professional people from other sources to easily open the topic. Then you can start the interview according to the designed questions. When meeting professional Tan Xing, the interviewer should be willing to listen and give the professional an opportunity to provide other information. At the end of the interview, ask professionals to recommend other relevant professionals to themselves. In this way, you can expand your professional cognitive field like a snowball.
note:
(1) Prepare a "30-second advertisement" for yourself before the interview, because during the interview, professionals may ask the interviewer about his career interests and job hunting intentions.
(2) Before the interview, you should seek the opinions of professional people and record, write or not record the conversation as appropriate.
(3) The interview must be punctual and concise, and don't waste other people's time.
(4) After the interview, the contents recorded in the interview site should be quickly supplemented.
(5) Thank you in an appropriate way within one day after the interview.
5. Analysis of interview results
After interviewing more than three professional figures in a professional field, analyze from the perspective of professional information processing, compare with my previous understanding of this major, find out the deviation between subjective understanding and reality, determine whether I am suitable for this industry, occupation and working environment, whether I have the required ability, knowledge and quality, form a written summary report, and then make a detailed self-cultivation plan during my college years. Q: First of all, I don't know enough about the teacher's personal experience, such as your study experience and work experience (such as how did you get this job? What related occupations did you engage in before becoming editor-in-chief of Vision magazine? Were there any other industries you liked and longed for before? How long did you get this job after graduation, how long you have worked so far, etc. )
A: I graduated from the School of Economics and Management of Northwest Normal University in 200 1, and my undergraduate major is information management. In 2002, I entered the School of Journalism of Lanzhou University and began to study for graduate students in communication. Before that, I knew nothing about the periodical industry. Considering the professional study in the future, I think it is necessary to practice in relevant media in order to be more familiar with the operation of news media. So I came to Vision magazine to seek internship opportunities. Fortunately, I found a more suitable and broader one here.
