The economy of Kyoto, Japan

After World War II, Kyoto's industry developed rapidly and became one of Japan's four major industries, connecting Osaka and Kobe.

Kyoto is famous for its textile industry, which is the largest textile industry center in Japan. Silk and fabrics produced in Kyoto sell well all over the world.

Kyoto also has machinery manufacturing, precision instruments, emerging chemical industries and other industrial departments, producing handicrafts such as Beijing lacquerware, Beijing fans, Beijing Buddha statues and artistic pottery.

It can be said that Kyoto is not only an ancient capital with a long history, but also a fairly modern city.
