Man-made cotton is a kind of cellulose fiber synthesized by processing cellulose fiber, also called man-made cotton, and viscose fiber is the most common. Compared with ordinary cotton, artificial cotton fiber is cleaner, has higher crystallinity, can have a certain length as required, and has good spinnability.

Viscose fiber belongs to regenerated cellulose fiber. It is made of natural cellulose through alkalization, aging, yellowing and other processes, then dissolved in dilute alkali solution to make viscose, and then wet spinning. Ordinary viscose fiber, high wet modulus viscose fiber and high strength viscose fiber can be obtained respectively by using different raw materials and spinning processes.

Ordinary viscose fibers have general physical and mechanical properties and chemical properties, which are divided into cotton type, wool type and filament type, commonly known as rayon, rayon and rayon. High wet modulus viscose fiber has high polymerization degree, strength and wet modulus. This kind of fiber can bear the load of 22.0 cn/tex in wet state, and the wet elongation under this load is not more than 15%, which is mainly rich and powerful fiber. The breaking strength of ordinary viscose fiber is smaller than that of cotton, which is about 1.6 ~ 2.7 CN/dtex. The elongation at break is higher than that of cotton 16% ~ 22%. The wet strength decreased a lot, about 50% of the dry strength, and the wet elongation increased about 50%. Its modulus is lower than that of cotton, and it is easy to deform under small load, but its elastic recovery performance is poor, so the fabric is easy to stretch and its dimensional stability is poor. The strength, especially wet strength, of rich fiber is higher than that of ordinary viscose, and the elongation at break is smaller and the dimensional stability is better. The wear resistance of ordinary viscose is poor, while the fiber-rich viscose is improved.

Viscose fiber has good hygroscopicity, and the moisture regain is about 13% under general atmospheric conditions. After moisture absorption, the fabric expands obviously, and the diameter can be increased by 50%, so the fabric feels hard when it meets water, and the shrinkage rate is large.

The chemical composition of viscose fiber is similar to cotton, so its alkali resistance is stronger than acid resistance, but its alkali resistance and acid resistance are worse than cotton. Rich fiber has good alkali resistance and acid resistance.

Similarly, the dyeing performance of viscose fiber is similar to that of cotton, with complete dyeing spectrum and good dyeing performance. In addition, the thermal properties of viscose fiber are similar to cotton, and the density is close to cotton, ranging from 1.50 to 1.52 g/cm3.

Viscose fiber is one of the earliest chemical fibers put into industrial production. Because of its good hygroscopicity, comfortable wearing and excellent spinnability, it is often blended with cotton, wool or various synthetic fibers and used in various garments and decorative textiles. High strength viscose fiber can also be used in tire cord, conveyor belt and other industrial products.

2. Evenness: rayon cloth is even and has few yarn defects; However, the uniformity of pure cotton yarn is not as uniform as rayon, especially for medium and coarse fabrics.

3. Feel: Man-made cotton cloth, regardless of thickness, feels soft, and cotton cloth is slightly rough.

4. Color: Man-made cotton cloth has good luster and color. Compared with cotton cloth, man-made cotton cloth is brighter.

5. Wrinkling: Man-made cotton cloth wrinkles easily. When a cloth is scattered by hand, many folds appear, which is not easy to recover in time; Although cotton cloth has wrinkles, it is slightly lighter than rayon.

6. Drapability: Rayon has better drapability, while cotton has worse drapability than Rayon.

7. Strength: The strength of man-made cotton cloth is lower than that of cotton cloth. Especially in humid environment, the fastness of artificial cotton is poor, and it is easier to break than cotton silk when it is pulled out from the edge of cloth. Therefore, most artificial cotton is thicker than pure cotton linen.
