Dating back to 1889 ~ 1907 when Zhang Zhidong, Governor of Huguang, was in charge, Hanyeping Coal and Iron Factory and Mine Co., Ltd. (Hanyang Iron Factory, Daye Iron Mine and Pingxiang Coal Mine) was established, which was the first of its kind in China, and Huangshi became the "cradle of China's iron and steel industry". Huangshi Daye iron and steel plant, which has been passed down to this day, is located in Cisai Mountain and Huangjing Mountain, which are unknown by the Yangtze River. 1909 Daye Hubei Cement Plant, which started construction, is the predecessor of huaxin cement. Huaxin wet cement rotary kiln has made great contributions to China cement industry, and huaxin cement is also located at the foot of Maple Leaf Mountain in the Yangtze River. Therefore, Huangshi is also called "the cradle of China cement industry".
