Ordos, which means "numerous palaces" in Mongolian, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, located in the southwest of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, in the hinterland of Ordos Plateau, with a total area of 87,000 square kilometers. Ordos belongs to the semi-arid continental climate zone in the northern temperate zone, with great changes in winter and summer.
