Apply for Vietnamese patent

Recently, a programmer in Hanoi, Vietnam took the initiative to declare and pay personal income tax of 23.4 billion VND (about 6.6 million RMB) to the local tax bureau, because her income last year was 330 billion VND (about 93 million RMB). According to the State Taxation Bureau of Vietnam, this is a 28-year-old female programmer whose main source of income is programming applications in Google Store and Apple Store.

Another 30-year-old male programmer earned 260 billion rupiah (about 73.6 million RMB) and voluntarily paid 654.38+08 billion rupiah (565.438+10,000 RMB) in personal income tax to the tax bureau of George District, Hanoi.

According to interviews with Vietnamese media, the income of these programmers mainly comes from writing embedded advertising applications. After the program they wrote is released to the app stores of Apple and Google, users will get a certain percentage of commission from advertisers who embed the software as long as they download or use it.

The person in charge of State Taxation Administration of The People's Republic of China, People's Republic of China (PRC), Vietnam, said that these taxes are based on individual voluntary declaration, and the Vietnamese tax authorities have not conducted a special review on this. Even so, in 2020, the tax levied by Hanoi Taxation Bureau on individuals engaged in e-commerce business activities increased five times compared with 20 19.

In the past two years, Vietnam has collected nearly 1 trillion Vietnamese dong (about 280 million yuan) from people engaged in Internet programming. These taxes mainly come from the advertising revenue of Facebook and Google, and are determined according to the commissions paid by Facebook and Google directly to individuals or through advertising companies, so they are relatively transparent and well documented.

In my opinion, applications written by programmers are actually a form of patented technology and should enjoy a certain sales commission. In contrast, our programmers are more like manual workers than mental workers. No wonder no one cares about them at the age of 40.
