Scientific Research in School of Materials Science and Engineering, Southeast University

Focusing on the goal of building a research-oriented world-class university, our institute has been actively promoting the construction of talent teams and laboratories with scientific research as the guide. It has been approved by the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province to build two provincial key laboratories, namely "Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Civil Engineering Materials" and "Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Advanced Metal Materials and High Technology".

Over the past five years, our institute has undertaken more than 80 national "863" high-tech projects, "973" key basic research projects, national natural science foundation key projects, national key projects, high-tech projects of the Science, Technology and Industry Committee for National Defense, key projects of the Ministry of Education, and transformation projects of scientific and technological achievements in Jiangsu Province, and participated in many national major construction tasks such as shenzhou spaceship, Three Gorges Water Conservancy Project, Runyang Bridge, Nanjing Subway and Sutong Bridge. He has won three national invention awards and scientific and technological progress awards, more than ten provincial scientific and technological progress awards, more than 30 invention patents, and published more than 700 high-level papers (including nearly 500 in SCI, EI and ISTP). Its research results have been widely used in national defense, automobiles, machinery, petrochemicals, energy, roads and bridges, water conservancy projects, housing construction and underground engineering, and have made important contributions to national economic construction.
