The answer is naturallyno. Yesterday, Tianma officially released the world's first multi-point fingerprint solution "TED Finger Print" (hereinafter referred to as TFP). Fingerprints can be recognized anywhere on the screen, which can bring more multi-finger unlocking functions.
Before introducing TFP in detail, let's review the existing screen fingerprint recognition technology of organic light-emitting diodes.
Fingerprint identification technology of organic light-emitting diode screen
There are three main derivative schemes of screen recognition technology based on organic light-emitting diodes. The first is the ultrasonic fingerprinting project led by Qualcomm. Compared with optical fingerprint identification technology, this scheme supports IP68 dustproof and waterproof, and can complete underwater operation (underwater fingerprint identification), not to mention the common wet hand operation and oil pollution operation. While realizing fingerprint unlocking, it can also support in-vivo detection (heartbeat detection and blood flow detection), which means that it cannot be unlocked with fake fingers, and it is possible to realize the heart rate detection function of the sports bracelet.

The second is "collimator scheme", such as vivo X20 Plus, X2 1, Xiaomi 8 Exploratory Edition, Huawei Mate RS Offscreen Fingerprint Edition, Meizu 16th, which all supported screen fingerprint recognition in the early days. They all embed the fingerprint recognition sensor under the screen of the organic light-emitting diode, and collect the light emitted by the small hole on the screen of the organic light-emitting diode through the microlens for imaging, so as to realize fingerprint information recognition.
The third is the "off-screen camera scheme". From vivo NEX to the latest mobile phones, they have replaced the fingerprint identification sensor hidden in the screen with a special camera module (composed of fingerprint chip, ultra-short focus CMOS fisheye camera, light sensor, NOR flash and filter), and because it is called "CMOS scheme", it is essentially to collect and compare fingerprints through the off-screen camera.
TFP screen fingerprint identification technology
The TFP scheme released by Tianma has independent intellectual property rights and has the characteristics of high integration, full-screen multi-point fingerprint identification and high screen ratio. The basic principle is to embed the fingerprint image collector into the TFT display substrate, which integrates the three functions of touch control, display and fingerprint identification for the first time. At the same time, the optical path and sensor cover the whole display screen, and the sensor based on glass substrate is equipped. The sensor size is not limited, and "full-screen multipoint" fingerprint recognition can be realized on the full screen.
Compared with the existing fingerprint scheme based on organic light-emitting diode screen, TFP scheme has three killers:
First, it is highly integrated. TFP realizes touch, display and fingerprint identification for the first time. It integrates the light path modulation unit into the display screen, and the screen thickness is reduced by 50% compared with the design scheme of external collimating light path, which breaks through the limitation that the optical fingerprint in LCD screen is difficult to match the normal coverage thickness, and is more competitive in the market and mass-produced.
Second, it supports full-screen arbitrary display area, realizes multi-point fingerprint identification, and can be applied to blind full-screen unlocking, APP encryption unlocking and custom fingerprint control, which can bring higher security and privacy. This technology can be APPlied in many scenarios, such as deep encryption app, to improve the driving experience of vehicles and provide a higher level of protection for the information security of smart factories, smart cities, smart homes, intelligent transportation and intelligent medical care.
Thirdly, the built-in fingerprint recognition function of the display screen can effectively improve the screen ratio parameters of the terminal products.
Generally speaking, Tianma TFP has ended the history that LCD has no ability to recognize screen fingerprints, and also broken the limitation that fixed areas can only realize single-point fingerprint recognition. We can encrypt any APP in the future. When you click the APP icon, you need to complete fingerprint verification to open it. Is it more convenient than the existing mobile APP encryption, and it is much more convenient to press the finger at the specified location for fingerprint verification and then click?
