Valencia
Valencia is located in the southeast of Spain, about 355km from Madrid and 35 1km from Barcelona. It takes about 2.5 hours to drive from the two places to Valencia. Valencia is a seaside town. Although it is not as famous as Madrid and Barcelona, its laid-back atmosphere, rich food, futuristic architecture and traditional Spanish festival "Fa Ya Festival" have attracted more and more attention and been added to the list of destinations to Spain. The Madrid-Valencia-Barcelona route seems to draw a triangle for the Spanish destination.
What's interesting about Valencia?
Downtown Valencia
Valencia is known as the largest and best-preserved old city in Spain, so there are ancient Roman, Arab and Catholic buildings in the old city, from the silk market to the cathedral, from ceramics museum to the Fa Ya Festival Museum. It's worth a walk.
Spanish name: Valencia Carter de la Rey
If a building can show the history of a city, then this cathedral is the epitome of Valencia's history. Spain, on the edge of Europe, experienced the rule of Romans and Goths, and was once the main battlefield for Christians and Muslims to compete for faith and territory in Europe. Many historic towns in Spain have these characteristics, and Valencia is no exception. The original site of the Anglican Church was originally a Roman temple and a Gothic church. In the 8th century, Muslim Moors from North Africa built a mosque here. In the13rd century, the Christian army "recovered lost ground" and it became a cathedral again. It is said that the holy grail used in Jesus' last supper is stored here.
Spanish name: Vergen Square
The Holy Square is the birthplace of Valencia. There is a fountain statue in the center of the square. It's a handsome uncle surrounded by eight naked women on the sofa. This uncle is Wacheng, the mother of Turia River. Eight naked women holding or holding water bottles symbolize eight canals flowing from the Turia River. Around the fountain, many tourists and local residents gathered together and enjoyed the slow rhythm of Valencia in the sound of guitar by street performers.

St Mary's Church is another landmark. This church was built in the13rd century and took nearly a century to complete. Architectural style combines architectural features of different times, and you can find different elements such as Roman style, Renaissance style, Baroque style and neoclassicism. Time left its mark here, but it didn't affect the elegance of the church.

Fontana, with superior natural conditions, is located in an idyllic village and hundreds of hectares of vineyards, about an hour's drive from Valencia. It has been the hometown of wine since ancient times, and many archaeological sites have proved this. The Iberians who lived here 2500 years ago have started to make wine. Grape cultivation and grape taste in Fontanals have their own characteristics, so the wine produced here has a unique taste.

Spanish name: Jardin del Turia
Leave the old city and walk eastward along Turia Garden, where Valencia people usually relax and exercise. It used to be a river, and it became a park because of sediment deposition. You can rent a bicycle here and drive all the way to the Science and Technology Art City.

Walk southeast along the green belt of Turia Garden for about 20 minutes, and you will see a helmet-like building like a character in a science fiction film, which is very futuristic. This means that you have entered the scope of the art and science city. Art City is a general term, including five distinctive buildings: Queen Sophia Art Center, Planetarium, Prince Philip Science Museum, Multifunctional Exhibition Center, Aquarium and an outdoor green belt.
The architect is Santiago Calatrava, a famous Spanish architect. This place is not only a favorite place for adults and children, but also a favorite place for architectural photographers. Because many interlaced lines are used in the building, the white building is surrounded by green pools, which has a perfect mapping effect under the blue sky in Spain. Therefore, whether in the daytime or in the darkness when the lights are turned on, the light and shadow changes of the building are wonderful.
