Charging of EFB battery
First, the way of charging
Another feature of EFB battery compared with ordinary maintenance-free lead-acid battery is that it uses constant voltage and current limiting charging. We know that the terminal voltage of ordinary batteries at the end of constant current charging can reach 2.6-2.8 volts/cell, and a large amount of gas will be generated at such a high charging voltage.
Even the maintenance-free battery will produce a lot of gas, which will affect the service life of the battery. Therefore, EFB battery adopts constant voltage and current limiting charging method.
Second, the setting of charging value
The charging method of EFB battery should be constant voltage and current limit, the charging voltage should be 16V, and the charging current should be ≤5I20(I20 is the value of battery rated capacity divided by 20, for example, EFB70Ah battery, I20=3.5A). During the charging process, the battery temperature change should be detected and the battery response should be accurately observed every 2 hours. If the temperature is too high, stop charging immediately.
