Gege in black: Wang Jian.
I graduated from China University of Science and Technology in p>21. One year later, I worked as a website manager in global sources. In 25, I joined Tencent. I worked as a QQ mailbox product manager, a Q bar product director, a senior strategy manager and so on. I have 8 years of experience in Internet products. In his spare time, in 25, he founded the encyclopedia of anecdotes, which is a website where users share real anecdotes. At present, there are more than 55, Feed subscribers, which is the most subscribed Chinese website. The following is an exclusive interview with Wang Jian, the stationmaster of the encyclopedia of anecdotes, shared with you by cnBeta.
Interview with the founder
Q: What was your original intention of doing the encyclopedia of embarrassing things: interest, Adsense or something else?
a: I started blogging in July, 23, which was not too early, but a relatively early batch. At that time, it was not the era of national blogs and national Weibo. blogger had a circle, and there were some celebrities in the circle, such as Keso, Wang Jianshuo, Muzimei, etc. Their blogs were very popular, and few people read what I wrote. At that time, I really hoped that there would be a model that would allow everyone to write together, so that I would be relaxed and maybe even more angry than them. Later, I happened to see the bash site org, where users post, review and vote for content, and a self-help website. I thought this model was very high and the implementation was not too complicated, so I made one with my colleague Sam in global sources. It takes up 2% of my spare time.
q: what is the user base of the encyclopedia of anecdotes and secrets? How to grasp the user group and the quality of content?
A: Through GoogleAnalytics, I can know where users come from, what operating system and browser they use, but I can't know their demographic data. The website hasn't asked users to fill it out, and I haven't done a questionnaire survey in this regard.
If there are any characteristics of users of the anecdote encyclopedia, they should be a group of people looking for happiness. Every day we will encounter all kinds of things, some positive and some negative, which will cause our mood to fluctuate. Scientists have studied professional baseball players and found that those who laugh in photos live longer. So it is good for your health to look at the embarrassing things and have fun.
Secret users are people who need to talk and vent, and their emotions need an outlet. Simply inputting some happy energy can't solve their problems. These vented contents are definitely negative, and the relevant departments do not want such content to exist on the Internet.
if we grasp the user group and content quality, I think it is enough to grasp the content quality, and the content will be automatically filtered to our own users. For example, if you set up a website with medical content, visitors must be interested in medicine. We rely on netizens to control the quality of content, including two links: auditing and reporting after auditing.
q: it can be found that there are many websites similar to the encyclopedia of anecdotes in Google. what do you think of this phenomenon? As a webmaster, how do you deal with these homogeneous competitions?
a: the model of the website is not protected by patent, and it is normal and legal for the model to be copied, which shows that this model is attractive, and everyone wants to have one in their hands when they see good things. But some websites not only copy our model, but also steal our UI design and content, which is very despicable. We will send them a lawyer's letter.
q: big gege in black is your nickname and a virtual BOSS in the station. Do you think it is appropriate for webmasters to participate in user discussions? Does it affect the neutrality of the website (even if your motives are good)?
A: As I said earlier, the encyclopedia of anecdotes is actually the reality of a set of rules. My participation is under the framework of the rules, and I will not be "unconstitutional", so my participation will not lead to the collapse of the whole rules and the websites established by the rules.
q: in my opinion, the encyclopedia of anecdotes and secrets are both successful, although in the market, it seems that one is prosperous and the other is closed. What do you think of this result?
A: This is the result with China characteristics. Many people have successfully predicted this result, including myself.
q: why do you think the secret should be closed? Why can embarrassing things survive?
a: because we should work together to build a harmonious society.
