In January 1965, the state-owned Qingshan Machinery Factory (codenamed State-owned No. 246 Factory), also known as the Precision Technology Research Institute (codenamed the 16th Research Institute of the Fifth Ministry of Machinery Industry), was established.
In March 1966, the factory was determined to be an enterprise unit, and a factory-led approach was adopted to focus on production and engage in precision technology research.
In May 1969, it was renovated and expanded into a production plant for special products WP101.
In April 1980, the company switched to special product WQ204. Forming two major special product series: WP and WQ. In October 1984, the factory successfully trial-produced the SC110 microcar transmission assembly, and the factory entered the automotive industry. It has formed a five-product system integrating military and civilian products, including two special products and three civilian products: micro-car transmissions, motorcycle transmission cases, and precision ball screws.
In December 1996, the state-owned Qingshan Machinery Factory was restructured into Chongqing Qingshan Industrial Co., Ltd.
In January 2001, the company's technology center was awarded the title of Chongqing Municipal Technology Center.
In November 2005, the reform and restructuring of the main and auxiliary companies was completed. In August 2006, the assets, liabilities, and personnel related to the transmission business of Chongqing Tsingshan Industrial Co., Ltd. were transferred to China Southern Industrial Automobile Co., Ltd., and "China Southern Industrial Automobile Co., Ltd. Chongqing Tsingshan Transmission Branch" was established.
In January 2007, the product structure adjustment achieved initial results. The company relied on the technical talents trained in the "No. 1 Project" to independently develop two patented products, MR506A and MR508B, which were marketable and cost-effective.
