Professor Dong Runzhen received his Ph.D. (Operations Research) from Cornell University on 1992 and began to teach at the National University of Singapore. He has been engaged in education, scientific research, consultation and training for many years, and has published many articles in international journals and won many awards. For example, IIE Journal 20 10 Best Article Award, 201Kloc-0 Best Article Award (Ralph A. Evans/P.K. McElroy Award). From 1993 to now, we have provided consulting services to many multinational companies, such as Philip, Seagate, Hewlett-Packard, Siemens, Wright, New Productivity and Standards Bureau, among which the Six Sigma Method has made outstanding contributions. We put forward solutions and put them into practice for the optimization of experimental design, complex process control chart, abnormal data processing and other topics. He won the 2004 iQPC Six Sigma Excellence Award for Seagate. From June 5438 to February 2006, the book Six Suitable Horses: Black Belt and Advanced Tools of Black Belt Masters (John Willie) was published, which won the 2007 International Quality Book Award. Based on the data of international trade in recent years, Professor Dong made a macro analysis of maritime logistics and port competitiveness. In particular, the development and changes of the world's five major seaports in Asia in the past few decades are analyzed in detail, the competitive conditions for them to become international shipping hubs in the future are evaluated, and feasible schemes for revenue management of air transportation are put forward. This analysis is an extension of six sigma method.
