First, the cost is too high.
Theoretically, it is feasible to identify the authenticity of RMB with QR code. At present, there are some anti-counterfeiting QR codes on the market. Those anti-counterfeiting two-dimensional codes are printed on the product packaging. Users only need to decode and verify the authenticity of this verified product through the designated two-dimensional code anti-counterfeiting system or mobile phone software, and these two-dimensional codes are encrypted and stored, so they are not easy to copy.
However, to establish such an identification system, relevant supporting facilities are needed, which will also increase the process of RMB printing. First of all, you should use QR code to identify the authenticity of RMB. You have to match a system, which includes servers, software and so on. These are all costs. Secondly, in order to identify the authenticity of RMB, each RMB must have a unique identification code, which will not greatly increase the workload of RMB printing.
Second, the QR code is easy to copy.
The QR code is static. Once printed, it's fixed. Since it is a static QR code, it may be copied at any time. According to the current level of fraud in the market, it is not a problem to copy an identical QR code.
After copying this QR code and pasting it on the fake RMB, the result of this QR code scanning will also be connected to the real identification system, but this can be confused with the real one. For example, at present, many products on the market identify the authenticity of products through two-dimensional codes, but some people just copy these two-dimensional codes and paste them on fake products, so that consumers can scan the codes and connect them to the real product system, which in turn provides a convenience for counterfeiters.
Therefore, it is not feasible to identify the authenticity of RMB with static QR code in reality, because static things are fixed and easy to be copied unless the QR code is dynamic and may change at any time.
It is not feasible to identify RMB with QR code, but it is possible to identify RMB with AR in the future.
Using new technology to identify the authenticity of RMB will be the future development trend. With the continuous progress of China technology, especially the maturity of AR technology, it is believed that the new version of RMB in China may adopt this AR technology for identification in the future.
This kind of AR recognition can get some related animations or patterns by setting special patterns or anti-counterfeiting marks on RMB, and then scanning the codes with mobile phones. The central bank has launched a similar design before, and everyone just needs to scan the RMB with their mobile phones.
