What does airbag mean?

Airbag is a passive safety configuration in motor vehicles, which can provide effective collision protection for passengers when combined with seat belts. When a car collides, the inflation system can inflate quickly in less than one tenth of a second, and the airbag will rush out of the steering wheel or dashboard after inflation, thus protecting the people in the car from the impact of the force generated by the front collision. The airbag was first put forward by Hetrick and obtained the American patent of "Automobile Cushion Safety Device". With the formulation of automobile safety standards in various countries, the deployment rate of airbags is getting higher and higher. Airbags can also be classified according to different installation positions, including front airbags, co-pilot airbags, side airbags, rear seat side airbags, side airbags, knee airbags and so on. Provide comprehensive protection for drivers and passengers.
