Little Tom automatic pistol

Little Tom automatic pistol

Little Tom automatic pistol was designed by British designer Alois Tomiszka in 1908, and applied for a patent in Austria-Hungary. But it was not until 1920 that the gun was put into production in Czechoslovakia and Austria, among which Austria produced more. Little Tom automatic pistol is the earliest single/double action automatic pistol in the world, which is divided into two versions: 6.35mm Browning caliber and 7.65mm Browning caliber.

Overall situation:

Little Tom automatic pistol is a small self-defense pistol. According to different caliber, the size and quality of the whole gun are also different. The total length of 6.35mm Tom automatic pistol is 1 13mm, the barrel length is 59mm, the total weight of the gun is 0.37kg, the ammunition capacity is 6+ 1 round, and the effective range is 25m. The 7.65mm version is slightly larger, with a total gun length of 140mm, a barrel length of 80mm, a total gun weight of 0.58kg, an ammunition capacity of 7+ 1 round and an effective range of 35m.

Structural principle:

Generally speaking, little Tom's automatic pistol design is more advanced. The gun adopts single/double acting mechanism, which can be carried relatively safely when there are bullets in the bore. A similar design was not adopted on PP automatic pistol until 1929. That is 1929, little Tom's automatic pistol was discontinued.

The holster of Little Tom's automatic pistol adopts an open design, with part of the barrel exposed, and its structure is similar to that of today's Bei Leita 92 series automatic pistol. Little Tom's automatic pistol adopts a relatively simple free gun automatic mode, inertia locking, hammer exposure and single/double action firing. Manual safety is designed on the left side of the sleeve seat, which can lock the trigger in a safe state.

Special design:

A special design of Little Tom's automatic pistol is the magazine of the gun. Like the common automatic pistol, the magazine of the gun can be installed from the bottom or directly thrown into the shell throwing mouth from above. In addition, because the gun is designed for close self-defense, it doesn't even have a sight, so it can only aim roughly by directivity.
