1946 Michelin applied for a patent for radial tire.
Radial tire is composed of two or three layers of steel wire belts, which are attached to the carcass of the ply. The carcass cord is connected from one bead to another, much like the meridian of the earth, so the tire with this structure is called radial tire.
Compared with bias tire, radial tire has the following advantages: long service life, large grounding area, better grip, fuel saving, smooth steering, low tire burst rate, fast steering response, low working temperature, strong comfort and self-cleaning ability (suitable for construction machinery tires/agricultural machinery tires).
At present, passenger car tires (cars, SUVs, etc.). ) are basically radial tires.
