Which factories in China produce PTA?

PTA production and investment in Chinese mainland

At the end of 2004, the domestic PTA production capacity was 4.835 million tons. With the entry of private and foreign capital in recent years, PTA capacity expansion began to accelerate greatly. In 2005, two sets of * * *10.06 million ton PTA plants were put into operation. By the end of 2005, China's PTA production capacity has increased to 5.895 million tons, surpassing South Korea, Taiwan Province Province of China and the United States in one fell swoop, becoming the first PTA producer in the world. In 2006, Shanghai Yadong, Luxiang Petrochemical (capacity expansion), Sanxin Petrochemical No.2 Plant, Yangzi Petrochemical and Ningbo Mitsubishi were put into production one after another, and some units were expanded on the basis of the original units. Therefore, in 2006, China's new PTA production capacity was about 3.555 million tons, and the total production capacity was about 9.45 million tons.

PTA capacity expansion in China will continue in 2007-2008, in which 3.3 million tons of new capacity will be put into production in 2007, and the PTA capacity in China may exceed160,000 tons in 2008. After 2008, China's PTA self-sufficiency rate will be above 80%, and the import volume will be reduced to less than 3 million tons. What is more noteworthy is that the process package and complete technology of 800,000-ton PTA plant developed by Shanghai Petrochemical Company have basically taken shape recently, and its social and economic benefits will gradually emerge. Just as the localization of polyester technology in China has become the source power to promote the rapid expansion of polyester production capacity, the localization of PTA technology will also break the technical monopoly of large foreign companies in the field of polyester raw materials, quickly reduce the production cost of the whole polyester chain, further improve the competitiveness of China's polyester industry chain, and accelerate the end of the history of China's PTA technology relying on imports.
