Why don't cars use LED headlights?

Not useless, but very few, usually luxury cars. This is determined by the cost and heat dissipation characteristics of LED, and there are several specific points.

1, the chip power density of high-power LED is very high. Due to the semiconductor manufacturing technology, more than 80% of the input power is converted into heat energy, and less than 20% is converted into light energy. As the temperature rises, the chromaticity of LED will become worse, so heat dissipation is of great significance to LED.

2. car headlights is a halogen headlight. If it wants to dissipate heat quickly, it needs a big lamp. However, due to space constraints, large lamps are difficult to install or cannot be installed.

3. At present, the latest LED thermal control technology on the market is the traditional method of using radiator to dissipate heat, such as water cooling, tube boiling technology, air cooling, micro-tube heat dissipation and so on. At present, many luxury cars on the market have many original LED headlight beads, and the heat dissipation is not affected, because the headlights of the original car are always customized for LED headlights, and there is no volume problem at all.

So now the highest demand on the market is xenon lamp.
