Samsung's new patent exposure; Folding screen mobile phone+rotating camera

On July 23rd, Dutch media LetsGoDigital exposed the new patent of Samsung's "folding screen mobile phone+rotating camera".

Samsung's patent document has 49 pages, and its name is a bit awkward: "Foldable electronic device with rotating camera at hinge part", which was submitted to WIPO World Intellectual Property Office on 202 1 1 65438+4 and released on July 22nd.

The core idea of this patent is to integrate a rotatable camera into the hinge/hinge of a mobile phone similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 2 folding screen. The purpose is to remove the front camera opening of the inner screen and leave room for the larger outer screen. Therefore, the mobile phone can provide a variety of camera angle modes like Lenovo YOGA tablet.

This appearance patent, similar to the Nokia N92 released in 2008, is a camera on the flip cover and hinge. Nokia claims to be an expert.

Samsung's current two folding screen routes are the Galaxy Z Fold 2 route to increase the screen area and the Galaxy Z Flip 2 route to reduce the mobile phone area. Compared with the pit-occupying patent, the foreseeable trend of Galaxy Z Flip series is that the external screen will continue to increase and the off-screen camera will be introduced instead of adding additional mechanical structure.
