The Shanghai-Soviet Railway has been put into operation, and the Shanghai-Soviet Yangtze River Railway Bridge through which trains need to pass has been completed and opened to traffic at the same time. This is the world's first cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 1000 meters, designed and built by China, and it is a super project leading the world. Overlooking the blue sky, the Shanghai-Suzhou Yangtze River Bridge is like an elegant ribbon, which surrounds the waist of the Yangtze River.

The bridge starts from Zhangjiagang City, Suzhou in the south and ends in Tongzhou District, Nantong in the north. This is a control project of Shanghai-Soviet Railway.

The address is 45 kilometers downstream of Jiangyin Bridge and above Sutong Bridge. It is being built together with intercity railway and Xitong Expressway. Shanghai-Soviet Railway is a first-class railway with a design speed of 200 kilometers per hour. Tongsujia Intercity Railway is a dedicated passenger line with a speed of 250 kilometers per hour. Xitong Expressway is a two-way six-lane expressway with a speed of 100 km per hour.

The total length of the Husutong Yangtze River Railway Bridge is11072m, in which the main bridge is 5827m, the north-south approach bridge is 5245m, and the main span is1092m. It is the world's first four-lane six-lane cable-stayed bridge with a main span of over 1000m, which can meet the navigation requirements of 50,000-ton container ships and100,000-ton bulk carriers. After the completion of the bridge, Zhangjiagang will bid farewell to the era when trains could not pass in the past and enter the era of high-speed rail. It will no longer rely on steam to communicate with Nantong, and it will be able to create new opportunities for the economic and social development of the two sides.
