ZTE patent war

In the past few years, the homogenization of smart phones has almost become the most common problem for fans, and it is also the biggest headache for many mobile phone companies. How to realize product differentiation is an urgent industry problem. From the development trend of the industry, after the comprehensive screen trend triggered by Xiaomi, folding screen mobile phones led by Huawei and Samsung are becoming a new trend in the high-end flagship market.

At present, there are two main design styles for folding screen mobile phones. One is the left and right folding screen styles of Samsung Galaxy Fold series and Huawei Mate X series. This design usually requires a higher screen, so similar products have obvious screen creases and even screen damage. The second is the up-and-down folding screen style of Motorola Razr and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. This design is usually very small in size, but the screen area is also very small, which seems a bit contrary to today's big screen era.

Recently, the latest patent of China telecom giant ZTE's folding screen mobile phone was exposed, and its basic design concept is still the left and right folding screen concept. The difference is that its design is more radical than Huawei and Samsung, and it adopts a bold three-fold design. According to PriceBaba, the patent has been applied to CNIPA of China National Patent Office, which shows a device that can be folded by two thirds to form a tablet computer. When unfolded, a thick "handle" will be formed on one side of the device, which is different from Huawei's Mate X foldable mobile phone or Kindle Oasis e-reader.

It is worth noting that this is not the world's first mobile phone with a three-fold folding screen. Previously, TCL announced the concept mobile phone with a three-fold screen. 10 inch when the screen is fully expanded. Using TCL's "dragonfly hinge" and "butterfly hinge" technology, the internal and external folding of the display screen can be carried out smoothly, with almost no gaps. The size of the folded mobile phone is 6.65 inches, and the aspect ratio is 20.8:9.

Of course, ZTE may not mass-produce in a short time. But considering that this design has obviously reached the point where it is worth applying for a patent, the possibility of the future still exists. In fact, as early as 20 18 and 1 two months ago, ZTE released the world's first folding screen mobile phone-ZTE Axon M.

ZTE Axon M is equipped with two 5.2-inch 1080P resolution display screens, using the fifth-generation Corning gorilla glass. The folded machine has a body thickness of 12. 1mm and a weight of 230g, and the fingerprint identification function is integrated on the power key. Built-in 3 180mAh battery, supports QC3.0 fast charging, is equipped with 4GB running memory, and has 64GB body storage, built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 82 1 processor, and supports Dolby pro logic with two speakers.

However, ZTE's Axon M did not cause much market repercussions, because it did not give people a strong visual impact like today's full screen, and even was spit out because of its weird appearance. Many people think that it is just a pseudo-innovative product, just like the modular mobile phone proposed by Google before. At present, it is not so practical.

So what do you think of ZTE's three-fold folding screen mobile phone? Do you think the folding screen mobile phone led by Huawei and Samsung will become the mainstream trend in the future?
