Is it true that Apple 8wifi charges?

Is the release time of iPhone 8 confirmed that iPhone 8 supports WiFi charging? The US Patent and Trademark Office document released on Thursday local time shows that Apple is experimenting with long-distance wireless charging technology, and users can use WiFi routers to charge the iPhone in the future.

Take Apple Watch inductive charging hardware as an example, it can only be used for charging-it does not support wireless communication and has a short working distance. Apple has been trying to increase the range of wireless charging technology.

Adding wireless charging function to the existing communication frequency is not a new idea. Some progress has been made in previous research. For example, it is said that smaller devices only need WiFi signals to supply power and charge, but it has not yet entered the practical stage. Companies that develop wireless charging mainly rely on high-power inductive components, but the transmission efficiency is low.

Unfortunately, Apple's patent application only mentions the theory of wireless charging using existing communication frequencies, and does not involve specific details. The spy photos of iPhone 8 leaked earlier this week show that there seems to be a huge wireless charging pad on the back of the phone. Interestingly, it seems to be similar to the patch antenna described in this patent application.

It is widely expected that the flagship iPhone released this year will adopt some form of wireless charging technology, but a wireless charging solution based on communication frequency similar to that described in this patent application is not considered by Apple this year. Apple applied for this patent on June 20 15.

I hope this technology can be realized.

Hope to adopt!
