No country can imitate Japan's "never loose" nut. Is it really so magical?

Japan’s non-loosening screws are indeed more effective, but that doesn’t mean that other countries can’t make such screws, they just don’t want to use them.

1. In Asia, Japan does have certain advantages in science and technology, and has always been envied and even sought after by many people. In fact, Japan is outstanding in some aspects, but that does not mean that it is outstanding in all aspects of science and technology.

2. Japan's non-loosening screw is a fastener called Hadlock, which was developed by a small company with only more than 40 people. Moreover, this kind of fastener is said to never loosen, and other countries, including China, have not mastered the core technology of this kind of fastener. It is even said that even if the data and physical objects of this kind of fastener are given, other countries will not be able to develop it. It can be said that Hadlock fasteners are blown away.

3. In fact, this Hadlock fastener is not as perfect as everyone thinks. This kind of fastener also has shortcomings. It mainly relies on two nuts to work together. The second nut locks the first nut through eccentric pressure, ultimately achieving the purpose of preventing it from loosening. There is a problem in this. Due to the eccentricity of the second nut, the engagement of the nut and the bolt will inevitably deviate to one side. This eccentric force will affect the fatigue strength of the fastener over a long period of time, resulting in a decrease in the overall life of the fastener. Therefore, this kind of screw cannot be called a fastener that will never loosen. It is only suitable for use on objects that do not require high fatigue strength, such as connecting rods in engines, key parts of aircraft, etc. This type of fastener is not suitable for use.

4. It’s not that China can’t develop this kind of fastener, it just doesn’t want to use it. Mr. *** already had his own better fasteners a long time ago. When the Qinghai-Tibet Railway was built in 2002, the fasteners on the rail spring fasteners were required to be maintenance-free all year round. After repeated research and development by professionals, fasteners that meet the requirements have been developed. For more than ten years, there has been no accident of loosening of fasteners. Therefore, China has its own core technology in fasteners, so why bother to study Japan's Hadlock.
