Anyone who files an application for an invention patent will be required to pay fees starting from the date of application. Within 3 years, you can submit a substantive examination request to the Patent Office at any time. The request must be made in duplicate and the examination fee must be paid.
2. The application documents can be submitted directly or mailed to the China Patent Office or Shanghai Branch. Shenyang, Jinan, Changsha, Nanjing, and Chengdu agencies. The mail must be registered and the receipt must be kept. The mail must be marked "Patent Application" or "Received by the China Patent Office for Examination"
3. The determination of the filing date is of vital importance to the applicant. It determines the order of filing time and the scope of existing technology in the review process. It is also the starting point for a series of relevant deadlines in the future, such as calculation. Date of request for substantive examination, date of calculation of patent rights, etc.

If the submitted description contains an explanation of the drawings, but no drawings are actually submitted, the patent will not be submitted. The Bureau notifies the applicant to submit additional drawings within the specified period. The date of submission of the drawings will be the new filing date, and the original filing date will be invalidated. If the drawings are canceled by means of correction, the original filing date will be maintained. In addition, the original application for an invention patent will be required later. If it is changed to a utility model, the original filing date will be cancelled, and the subsequent filing date will be the new filing date.
