The documents submitted by using the new electronic application system should meet the following format requirements.
I. XML format file
e-application users should use the e-application offline client editor to edit and submit the XML file.

When editing an XML file, you should use characters within the range of the GB183 character set, instead of using self-made words.
2. Picture
The picture format referenced by XML file should be JPG and TIF; The figure number of the attached drawings in the instruction manual should be expressed in words and should not be included in the picture; The appearance picture or photo size should not exceed 15mm x 22mm, and the size of other pictures should not exceed 165mm x 245mm；; The resolution of the picture or photo should be 72-3DPI.
3. Mathematical formulas and chemical formulas
Mathematical formulas and chemical formulas in XML files should be submitted in the form of pictures.
4. tables
N×M tables and tables with merged cells in the header in the XML file can be edited and submitted by the e-application offline client editor, and other tables should be submitted in the form of pictures.
5. paragraph number and item number
the description paragraph number and item number in the new application XML file are automatically generated by the system.
the description section number of the file in XML format submitted after the application shall be numbered with 4 digits; The number of claims shall be numbered in Arabic numerals.
2. MS-Word and PDF format files
1. file scope
claims, specifications, abstract of specifications, drawings of abstract and drawings of specifications of application for patent for invention and utility model can be submitted in ms-word and PDF format.
2. Version MS-Word file should be 23 and 27 versions of doc and docx files; PDF files shall conform to PDFReference Version 1.3 or above.
3. Permission
Password protection and document protection functions should not be set for MS-Word files.
PDF files should have printing permission, and encryption function should not be set.
4. Character set
Characters within the range of the GB183 character set should be used, and self-made characters should not be used.
5. Pictures
The picture size should be limited to a single page, and it should not include grayscale and color pictures.
6. Layout requirements
Paragraph numbers in any form should not be added to the description, and the page size of the document should be vertical A4. All documents shall comply with the relevant requirements of the Review Guide.
7. other requirements
MS-Word and PDF files should not contain watermarks, macro commands, embedded objects, hyperlinks, controls, comments, revision patterns, etc.
