The core technology applied for a national invention patent in 1995 and was officially authorized in 1998. In 2001, the patent was awarded the Invention Patent Gold Medal by the International Intellectual Property Organization and the State Intellectual Property Office. It marks that my country has become the second country in the world to independently develop insect-resistant cotton after the United States.
In other words, the United States is the first country to successfully cultivate genetically modified insect-resistant cotton.
