What is perfume?

Perfume is a liquid mixed with essential oils, fixatives, and alcohol or ethyl acetate to give an object (usually a human body part) a lasting and pleasant smell. Essential oils are extracted from flowers and plants by distillation or liposuction. Organic substances with fragrance can also be used. Fixatives are used to combine various spices, including balsam, ambergris, and secretions from the gas glands of civet cats and musk deer. The concentration of alcohol or ethyl acetate depends on whether it is perfume, eau de toilette or cologne. The shelf life of perfume is usually five years.

Origin: In ancient times, humans have used spices to change the smell of the human body. The origin of the use of spices and as the patent perfume of the upper class rulers has been forgotten by people as the years go by. If the widespread use of spice crafts under the influence of the Orientals opened the first page of the history of perfume, then it was the distillation process invented by the Arabs that made a new contribution to the development of perfume. Next, the Crusades enabled the French to discover the existence of essential oils, thus confirming France's supremacy in the perfume kingdom today. [3]

The French perfume industry, which is based on careful blending of fragrances, can be traced back to the emergence of synthetic products in the 19th century. The most famous one is acetaldehyde synthesized by Professor Darjean around 1900.

The "Beautiful Era" of the 20th century was marked by the birth of several classic perfumes. They are JICKY (the earliest perfume born in 1889, still on the market today), ORIGAN (1905) and CHYPRE (1917). During the two world wars, high fashion began to be integrated with the perfume industry, and each product reflected elegance and female nobility. Examples include N°5(1921) and ARPEGE(1927). This period is marked by high-quality packaging expressed in beautiful bottles and the birth of some major creations that have become classic perfumes, such as SHALIMAR (1925).

At the end of World War II, the number of perfume consumers increased dramatically. Especially in 1945, the successful creation of MOUSTACHE perfume made men's perfume become fashionable again. This trend developed with the success of EAU SAUVAGE perfume (1966) , and thus affirmed the full charm of men's perfume.

The perfume industry, like all other industries, has always been able to quickly adapt to the above-mentioned social changes and lose no time in developing light fragrances. Oriental or floral fragrances are one example.

People continue to create newer and more unique fragrances, thus forming part of the world of perfume. This trend has become a symbol of the times we live in.

Storage method: Using it up as soon as possible is the most basic method. However, generally good perfumes can still have a lifespan of several years if stored well. Here are some things you should pay attention to when preserving perfume:

1. Perfume should be stored in a cool place, away from hot air and light. If the perfume is placed in a high temperature, the color and fragrance of the perfume will change. If you want to preserve the perfume for a long time, you can outsource the use of the perfume. Wrap in paper and place in the refrigerator.

2. Try to avoid friction and shaking the perfume bottle.

3. Do not touch the mouth of the bottle directly with dirty fingers, as this may destroy the original flavor of the perfume.

4. After using the perfume, the bottle cap must be tightened to prevent the fragrance of the perfume from evaporating.

PS: Perfume can usually be stored for about a year and can be stored at room temperature. If you find that the aroma has faded or has a sour taste, it should be discarded.

How to spray perfume 1. Essence is based on "points", perfume is based on "lines", and eau de toilette is based on "face". The lower the concentration, the wider the application range.

2. Apply the essence by rubbing or spraying it in a small area on the pulse beat area

3. Apply it to the parts with high body temperature,

4. Do not expose it to the sun Apply perfume to the exposed area

5. Perfume can be sprayed on clean, freshly washed hair

6. Cotton and silk can easily leave marks, so do not Spraying on the fur will not only damage the fur, but also change the color.

7. Perfume sprayed on wool and nylon clothing will not easily leave spots. However, the scent will be more difficult to dissipate on pure sweater materials.

Taboos for use: 1. Do not sprinkle perfume on exposed parts that are easily exposed to the sun. Because some of the spices in perfumes are volatile oils extracted from natural plants, and some of these volatile oils contain furanocoumarins, such as bergamot oil, etc., if sprayed on the face and parts easily exposed to the sun, the sunlight will UVA rays will combine with these chemicals sprayed on the skin to cause a photochemical reaction, eventually leading to skin inflammation and dot-like dark spots on the face.

2. Perfume should not be rubbed directly on the face or allergic skin. Since perfume contains a large amount of alcohol, especially toilet water, which contains more alcohol and is more irritating, it is not suitable to rub it directly on the face, sensitive skin and baby skin.

3. Perfume should not always be sprinkled directly on the skin, because if the skin is stimulated by alcohol for a long time, it may cause allergies. Therefore, the method of use should be changed. Depending on the situation, perfume can sometimes be sprinkled on clothing to spread the fragrance.

4. Perfume should not be too strong or sprinkled too much, otherwise it will be counterproductive and may easily lead to anosmia, which is harmful to the spirit. In addition, it may also give people a feeling of being aloof, flashy and self-admiring.

5. Perfume should not be applied to areas prone to sweating, such as the forehead, armpits, and inside shoes. Because there is a lot of sweat in these parts, it is easy to dilute the perfume, and the mixture of sweat and fragrance will produce a strange smell.

6. Perfume should not be sprayed on fur, gold, pearls and other clothing items, because perfume will make them lose their natural luster.

7. Two different perfumes should not be mixed together. The mixed fragrance will make each original perfume lose its pure flavor and may smell extremely uncomfortable.
