Is the publication date of the announcement of granting invention patent the date of patent authorization? Where did you learn about the legal expiry date of the patent?

Authorization date refers to the date of authorization announcement. It is not the date of publication of the announcement of granting the invention patent.

Within 2 months after receiving the notification of granting the invention patent (publication date+15 days +2 months), after paying the authorization registration fee, stamp duty and annual fee for authorization, the authorization will be announced and a patent certificate will be issued. The announcement date is the date when the patent right begins.

The legal term of a patent shall be counted from the date of filing, with 10 years for utility models and designs and 20 years for invention patents.

Article 42 of the patent law

The term of the invention patent right is 20 years, and the term of the utility model patent right and the design patent right is 10 years, both counting from the date of application.
