The Qualification Examination for Practicing Veterinarians is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and has a unified syllabus, unified propositions, and unified examinations across the country. If the results of the practicing veterinarian qualification examination meet the standards for practicing veterinarians, a practicing veterinarian qualification certificate will be obtained.
Those who meet the qualification standards for a practicing assistant veterinarian shall obtain a practicing assistant veterinarian qualification certificate. The qualification certificate of a practicing veterinarian and the qualification certificate of a practicing assistant veterinarian are issued by the Ministry of Agriculture.

After receiving the application for registration as a practicing veterinarian, the registration authority shall complete the review of the application materials within 20 working days. Those who pass the review will be issued a veterinary practice certificate; those who fail will be notified in writing and the reasons will be given.
After receiving the registration materials for practicing assistant veterinarians, the registration authority shall review the registration materials in a timely manner. If the materials are complete and authentic, the registration authority shall issue a practicing certificate for assistant veterinarians.
The veterinary practitioner’s practice certificate and assistant veterinarian’s practice certificate shall state the name, scope of practice, name of the employed animal diagnosis and treatment institution, etc.
The formats of veterinary practice certificates and assistant veterinary practice certificates are stipulated by the Ministry of Agriculture and printed uniformly by the veterinary authorities of the people's governments of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government.
