Samsung divides the screen into two layers. The first floor is designed with an opening like the current full-screen mobile phone, which ensures the permeability. The second layer is placed between the first layer and the front camera, and the lifting function is realized through the mechanical structure. When users don't use the front camera, the secondary screen on the second floor will rise to fill the holes in the screen, and it will automatically drop to expose the camera when using it, so that the main screen can realize the impression of no holes while ensuring the light transmittance.
In June 2020, Samsung Electronics applied to WIPO for the patent of "Electronic Equipment with Sub-display and its Operation Method", and the patent document was approved and published on February 24, 2020. This patent describes a device in which the camera is hidden behind the display panel and can move up and down, and the selfie camera is completely hidden when not in use.
