this patent, entitled "reliability calculation in multiple SIMD quantum processors", aims to improve quantum stability, scalability and performance in a more novel and effective way. It describes a quantum architecture based on quantum processing region.
It is reported that there are two main obstacles on the road to quantum development and ultimate quantum hegemony: scalability and stability. Because quantum state is a very sensitive and changeable substance, this sensitivity will increase with the increase of the number of qubits in quantum system.
according to this patent application, AMD is studying a system, which aims to improve the reliability of quantum system by using quantum teleportation, and at the same time reduce the number of qubits required for a given calculation, in order to alleviate the scaling problem and calculation errors caused by system instability. AMD's method aims to improve the existing quantum architecture by actually reducing the number of qubits needed to perform complex calculations-through the science fiction-like concept of "quantum teleportation".
Although it is hard to say which route will win in the global competition of quantum computing, AMD undoubtedly does not want to lag behind its competitors in the next round of competition, at least it has taken this step.
