Related principles of soft starter

the working principle of the soft starter is as follows: when the motor is started with the soft starter, the output voltage of the thyristor gradually rises, and the motor gradually accelerates until the thyristor is completely turned on. The motor works on the mechanical characteristics of rated voltage, so as to realize smooth starting, reduce starting current and avoid starting overcurrent tripping. When the motor reaches the rated speed, the start-up process is over, and the soft starter will automatically replace the completed thyristor with a bypass contactor to provide rated voltage for the normal operation of the motor, thus reducing the heat loss of the thyristor, prolonging the service life of the soft starter, improving its working efficiency and avoiding harmonic pollution of the power grid. The starting modes of soft starter include ramp boosting soft starter, ramp constant current soft starter, step starter, pulse impulse starter, voltage double ramp starter and current limiting starter.
