Wang Zhiqin, vice president of China Information and Communication Research Institute, pointed out that "5G+ Industrial Internet" has taken a big step forward in the integration of applications, network construction, terminals, industrial ecology and standards.

First of all, the pace of convergence application practice has accelerated. At present, "5G+ Industrial Internet" has penetrated from auxiliary links to core production links, and its application types have developed from large bandwidth to multiple types. Typical application scenarios are gradually formed, and the effect of improving quality, increasing efficiency and reducing cost is beginning to show. The main ten application scenarios are industrial design, auxiliary assembly, equipment coordination, precise control, visual inspection, data acquisition, remote maintenance, intelligent logistics, unmanned inspection and safety monitoring.

Secondly, the network construction mode is gradually clear. The other mode is a 5G wide-area private network based on public network, which adopts 5G slicing technology to form an end-to-end' slicing subnet', which is suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises. The third mode is a 5G local private network based on exclusive resources. This mode needs to authorize the frequency band of 5G private network, which is built by industrial enterprises and is rarely explored at present.

It has promoted the research and development of a number of new industrial integrated terminals and cultivated a number of new solution providers. For example, Alibaba and Zhejiang Unicom completed the full coverage of 5G lightweight independent core network in Zhoushan Port, Ningbo; Tencent has landed a "comprehensive center" for 5G edge computing in Binhai headquarters, which can support the deployment of industry private networks.

Fifth, the integration standard system has been steadily advanced. According to Wang Zhiqin, China is formulating the framework of the "5G+ Industrial Internet" standard system and a number of industry standards. "It is estimated that eight' 5G+Industrial Internet' application scenarios and technical requirements will be established in 20021-2022."

Although the development has achieved initial results, the initial stage of industrial development still faces challenges. In particular, the investment in R&D and the early stage of construction is huge, the supporting capacity of modules and other industries is insufficient, and the open and integrated ecology has not yet been established. In addition, China's 5G standard has not been completely frozen, and China's overall industrial informatization foundation is also poor, and its supporting capacity is relatively weak. There is still a big gap in mastering core technologies, service performance of key products, solution supply and application depth. "

According to Wang Zhiqin, the next step is to develop the "5G+ Industrial Internet" from four key points:
