Technical application of Yellow River levee
Dam seepage control is the key to dike reinforcement in the lower reaches of the Yellow River. According to the national defense general opinion and the arrangement of the Yellow River Committee, Hu, deputy chief engineer of the Yellow River Committee, presided over the establishment of a special leading group and working group by the Henan River Bureau. On March 1 day, the construction of cutoff wall by water jet method was started at the section of Nanyue levee in Zhengzhou 14+500~ 15+800 where Fujian Water Science Department is located. It is expected that the construction of 350 walls will be completed before April 30, and experimental research will be carried out in combination with this project. The water jet cutoff wall was developed by Fujian Academy of Water Sciences on 1982, and obtained the patent of utility model. This technology has been applied in 16 projects such as Minjiang River, Fujian Jiulong River and Hubei Huangshi Yangtze River, and a total of 340,000 meters of "concrete cutoff wall" has been built, which has achieved good results. The wall-building machine consists of a hole-making machine, an underwater concrete pouring machine, a concrete mixer and track equipment. The high-pressure water flow (pump pressure 6kg/cmZ) from the hole-making machine impacts and destroys the soil structure, and the conventional underwater concrete straight pipe pouring method is used to build concrete or reinforced concrete single trough slab. The maximum depth of construction can reach 30m, and the quality of finished wall meets the design requirements.
