The origin of safety pins can be traced back to Mycenae culture in14th century BC (late Tertiary Mycenae). At that time, it was called "fibula" (plural, singular), with the same usage and similar appearance as today's safety pins. But then the safety pin was lost.
It was not until 1849 that the modern safety pin was re-invented by American inventor Walter Hunt. At that time, its patent price was $400.
In fact, the invention of the pin originated in the middle of19th century. In order to find a useful piece of information from a large pile of documents conveniently and quickly, people began to nail the documents in the corner of the paper with tailors, but they often pricked their fingers. The idea of inventing a safe and effective office supplies appeared in the minds of three people almost at the same time, but now it is generally believed that the inventor of the paper clip is Norwegian mathematician John E. Walker, because the earliest date marked on his design sketch is 1899.
