NetEase Cloud Music is at war with Tencent Music again.
As soon as the news came out, it immediately became a hot search topic.
This was originally a serious incident, but after reading the comments, I laughed like crazy.
"Don't fight anymore."
"NetEase Cloud can handle it. If the matter comes true, let's fight.
"Whose membership is cheaper? Who do I support. ”
Everyone really enjoys watching the excitement.
There are also many netizens who “take advantage of the situation”, and the membership price determines the position.
What’s even more funny is , some people directly created a new logo that merged the two companies. Not to mention, the logo is quite beautiful.
This kind of reaction is not surprising.
This is not the first time that the two companies have "quarreled" over copyright.
In terms of copyright, each has its own shortcomings.
This time, NetEase Cloud. Music struck hard.
It directly sued the main entity Tencent Music, which includes QQ Music, Kugou Music, Kuwo Music and National Karaoke.
The content of the lawsuit includes the following two points:
1. Malicious copyright infringement and suspected resistance to rectification
2. Long-term plagiarism of NetEase Cloud Music’s visual design, product functions, innovative mechanisms, etc.
To put it simply, Tencent Music has infringed on their musical works and various creativity.
Regarding the three points of copyright infringement, I was shocked after reading it.
Can this be done?
First of all, QQ Music uses the "region-specific playback" function to pirate NetEase Cloud music works without authorization. , privately put on the other party's popular singles
For example, Yan Renzhong's "Good Night", Mao Buyi's "People Like Me", Bo Song's "The Beauty of the World is All About You"...
They found the blind spot of NetEase Cloud Music and only removed cities within the daily monitoring range of NetEase Cloud, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and other places.
But users in cities outside the detection range. It can still be played normally, such as in Jinan, Taiyuan, Suzhou and other places.
This is a great trick, and it captures the other party’s blind spot.
Secondly, QQ Music uses “import external playlists”. " function to secretly play NetEase Cloud music works.
This means that for songs without copyright, you can listen to them through the "song list link import" method.
In order to distinguish the authenticity, I personally tested it.
Using the playlist import method, I successfully imported NetEase Cloud Music’s exclusive "Good Night" into QQ Music.
Because the copyright of this song is not in QQ Music, So it can only be played, not shared or sung.
Later, I used the same method to import QQ Music's exclusive "Last Night's Party" "Broken Man Listen" to NetEase Cloud Music, which was successful, but it was not the original version, but a cover version.
This kind of small detail operation is really surprising.
Finally, NetEase Cloud Music sued Tencent Music for mass-impersonating unauthorized popular songs and maliciously intercepting them.
To put it simply, after a song on NetEase Cloud Music became popular, QQ Music subsequently launched a large number of songs of the same name to earn traffic.
For example, after Xu Jiahao's "Delete It" became a hit, a large number of songs with the same name and different lyrics and music appeared on QQ Music and Kugou Music, such as "Delete It" (official version) and "Delete It" (original singer) , "Delete It" (Tik Tok hot search version of the smoke voice)...
(QQ music search interface)
NetEase Cloud Music also stated that some singer names are imitations of the original singers .
For example, "Lao Pan next door" impersonated the musician "Lao Fan next door" and illegally listed related works.
Kuwo Music's "Lao Pan next door" has released "I Was", "I Want to Hug You in a Mediocre Life", "Four Yuan and Five" by "Lao Fan next door"...
Using this form of similar words, listeners who are not familiar with the original singer cannot detect the difference at all.
It is easy to mistake falsehood for truth.
In addition to suing music copyright, NetEase Cloud Music also sued creative plagiarism.
First of all, it plagiarizes the design of the vinyl playback page.
In 2013, NetEase Cloud Music registered a patent for the vinyl playback interface, but starting in 2020, Tencent Music’s apps began to launch vinyl interface designs one after another.
On the left is QQ Music and on the right is NetEase Cloud Music.
Secondly, it accuses plagiarism of the "Listen Together" function.
In 2020, NetEase Cloud Music launched the “Listen Together” function.
Although I haven’t used this feature yet, it really made my eyes shine when I saw it for the first time.
(NetEase Cloud Music’s “Listen Together”)
In 2021, Kugou Music also launched the “Listen Together” function.
NetEase Cloud Music accused them of pixel-level plagiarism, because except for the name, the function settings and page interaction design are almost identical.
(Kugou Music’s “Listen Together”)
A month later, QQ Music, a subsidiary of Tencent Music, also launched the “Music Room·Listen Together” function and launched it on six Months later, the name was directly changed to "Listen Together".
(QQ Music’s “Listen Together”)
Finally, it complained about plagiarism of the “Yunbei Song Push” function.
In April 2020, NetEase Cloud Music launched the "Yunbei Song Push" function to facilitate users to promote their favorite songs.
Three months later, Kugou Music launched the “Music Push” function.
NetEase Cloud Music said that Kugou’s “Music Push” copied “Yunbei Push Song” at the pixel level in terms of function settings and interface design.
The above is the entire complaint made by NetEase Cloud Music against Tencent Music’s App.
But this afternoon, Tencent Music responded.
Chen Mo, head of Tencent Music brand public relations, said in the circle of friends:
"We will not join the ranks of quarrels. After all, our friends are a group of people who truly respect and love music. "People, the relevant evidence has long been preserved, and the lawsuits that should be initiated have been launched one after another. I believe in the fairness of the law."
Looking at the whole process, this is actually the consequence of business competition.
Naturally, the team cannot resolve this matter, and the copyright dispute between the two parties has not lasted for more than a day or two.
To this day, there is no reasonable solution.
The dispute between NetEase Cloud Music and Tencent Music also reflects the imperfection of the domestic music industry system, which does not form an overall layout from top to bottom.
But fortunately there is no gap in this industry, and more and more people are joining the construction path of the music industry.
Although there are many loopholes, everyone is working hard to fill them.
The music industry is hard-won. I hope everyone can do the right thing and let the industry develop in a healthy and orderly manner.
