In order to speed up the production of ABS resin in China, the synthetic rubber factory of Lanzhou Chemical Industry Company introduced a set of production equipment with the scale of 10000 t/a from Mitsubishi Rayon Company of Japan in 1982, and technically adopted emulsion grafting-suspension method as the blending process. 1983, Shanghai Gao Qiao chemical plant purchased a set of idle ABS resin production equipment from USS, with a production capacity of 22,500 t/a, and adopted emulsion grafting-emulsion as blending production technology; At the end of 1986, the organic synthesis unit of Jihua Company signed a contract with Japan Toyo Engineering Company-Mitsui East Asia Company (TEC-MTC) to introduce a set of 1 10,000 t/a continuous bulk method to produce ABS resin (now used to produce high impact polystyrene); After 1990, several sets of ABS equipment were put into production in China. At present, there are six ABS manufacturers in Chinese mainland, namely Jihua (654.38+100000 t/a), Daqing (50000 t/a), Lanhua (20000 t/a), Panjin (50000 t/a), Zhenjiang Guo Heng (50000 t/a) and Zhejiang Nanxing (50000 t).
China is the largest consumer of ABS resin in the world. In recent years, the annual consumption of ABS resin has exceeded 120t. 1999 China's ABS output is about150,000 t/a, and its import volume is133,000 t. It imported 950,000 t from June to September in 2000, which has great market potential. At present, the self-sufficiency rate of ABS in China is very low, and a large number of imported products are needed to meet the demand. Other countries and regions in the world are dumping products at me. The joint venture production plant in Chinese mainland plans to expand its production capacity and form a supply base. For example, LG Korea plans to increase the capacity of Yongxing ABS plant to 300,000 t/a in 200 1 year. At the same time, ABS manufacturers all over the world have applied for patents in China to strengthen and expand their influence and share in the China market.
