According to personal experience, metal full-rim glasses frames are easy to break at the outer frame link, and the lenses fall out directly. It is a pity to just throw away the frames, especially new glasses.
When the lenses are used to match new frames, the shape may not be completely suitable. The lenses need to be polished again, and the effect is not very good.
So it’s better to fix it directly. Steps to remove:
1. Prepare 1 bottle of 502 glue, 1 glass backing plate, a few napkins, 1 pair of disposable plastic gloves, 1 wet cloth, 1 paper knife, and alcohol disinfection 1 bottle of solution.
2. Put on your gloves first. It is particularly emphasized that you must put on your gloves first, otherwise it will be too late to regret.
3. Use a needle to poke open the 502 glue. Note: It must be on the glass plate, and other objects must be placed on the periphery. Do not squeeze the bottle hard to prevent glue from splashing out of control!
4. Turn the frame upside down and lay it flat, with the temple legs resting on the glass plate. This position is the safest.
5. Put a few drops of glue into the concave seams in the frames on both sides of the break, then quickly install the lenses in and align the seams all around.
6. Hold the lens with your left hand, connect the broken part of the frame, and compact it together with the lens. Use your right hand to put a few drops of glue on the broken area and the frames on both sides. After compacting for 1 minute, let it sit until the glue is completely dry. Pick it up and wipe it.
It should be noted that: 1. It is useless to repair the tiny fractures alone. Therefore, you cannot repair the frame first and then install the lenses. You can only glue the lenses together in the frame.
2. If glue splash occurs, it should be quickly sucked up with a napkin, not wiped directly, and then wiped quickly with a wet rag.
3. After repair, there will be overflowing glue around the frame. Carefully scrape it off with a paper knife, wipe it with alcohol and scrape it off with your fingernail.
4. If the glue contaminates the lens and it becomes blurry after wiping, don’t throw away the lens in frustration! The lenses can still be saved! Spray disinfectant alcohol several times, patiently scrape off the contamination with your fingernails, face the light, and repeat several times!
