Tangshan Normal University is a provincial public full-time undergraduate institution of higher learning in Hebei Province. The school was formerly Tangshan Accelerated Teachers College, founded in 1956, and was transformed into an undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2000.

The school continues to expand the scale of scientific research and improve the level of scientific research. Now it has "Hebei Key Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology Research and Application", 12 municipal key laboratories and 7 municipal basic innovation teams.
