history
The light bulb is generally believed that Thomas Edison invented Americans. However, if the words are serious, another American, Henri Goebbels (Heinrich G. Bell), invented the same principles and materials as Edison decades ago, as well as a reliable light bulb. Before Edison Chen's invention, many others made many contributions.
In 180 1, platinum wire was provided by British chemist David. He also invented the electric candle. 18 10 years, he used an arc to illuminate the space between two carbon electrodes.
1854, Henry Goebbels used carbonized bamboo and placed it in a vacuum bottle with electricity. His invention seems to be the first practical incandescent lamp today. He tested the lamp for 400 hours, but did not immediately apply for a patent for design.
1850, Joseph Wilson Swan, an Englishman, began to study electric lights. 1878, he used carbon filament bulbs to supply power under vacuum, obtained a British patent, and began to set up in Britain to install street lamps at home.
1874 two Canadian patent lamps for electrical technology applications. Their next glass bulb is filled with helium, and the carbon rod is electrified to glow. But they didn't have enough financial resources to continue to develop this invention, and then sold the patent Edison at 1875.
Edison Chen, please try to use the filament after purchasing the patent. 1879, he changed the creation of carbon filament light bulbs, and successfully maintained it for 13 hours. By 1880, the carbonized bamboo filament light bulb he created had been successfully maintained in the laboratory for 1200 hours. But in Britain, Swan Edison Chen sued for patent infringement and won. Edison Power Company was forced to make Swan a British partner. But then Swan sold his interests and patents to Edison Chen. In America, Edison's patent is also a challenge. The United States Patent Office ruled that his invention had a criminal record and was invalid. Finally, after years of litigation, Edison obtained the patent of carbon filament incandescent lamp.
Edison's greatest discovery was the use of tungsten wire, not as carbon. 1906, Ge invented the method of manufacturing tungsten lamps. Finally, the cheap method of producing tungsten was solved, and the tungsten filament bulb was still in use.
