Asking about the film making process.

One: The basic process is as follows:

The script-directing-obtaining investment-organizing the shooting team-shooting-post-production-publicity (possibly throughout)-release.

Second, the process of division of labor:

Film company or studio production-distributor distribution-cinema screening-post-product development (long-term).

1. First of all, at present, the film industry in China is dominated by some big film companies with directors as the core. Every film company basically has stable directors, such as the cooperation between New Screen (Zhang Weiping) and Zhang Yimou; The cooperation between Huayi Brothers (Wang) and. Of course, there are still a large number of directors who will get investment at any time as long as they have good books. Because of the system and other reasons, the production and scriptwriting abilities of major film studios in our country are not as good as those of several large private production companies. Almost the only exception is China Film Group (Han Sanping), one of the best filmmakers in China. As long as there is a good script and director, he will not hesitate to invest. Directors who often cooperate with us, such as Tian Zhuangzhuang, Jiang Wen, Chen Kaige, Gu Changwei and Lu Chuan. And several films by Zhou Xingxing, including Red Cliff, which is being produced by John Woo, are basically the investment of China Film.

It should be said that making a movie is a bit like building a house with engineering. First of all, it must be the person who pays the money, but since he has money, he will definitely find the best and most professional people to co-produce it. Among them, the director seems to be the core of everything, and he is the key to the success or failure of the film.

3. The script is the first problem to be solved by the director, and it is also the biggest problem and difficulty in China movies at present. Good scripts are hard to find. In addition to finding ready-made scripts or novels, Zhang Yimou often cooperates with other royal screenwriters, such as Hero and House of Flying Daggers by Wang Bin. Xiaogang Feng has long-term cooperation with Liu Zhenyun, Zhang Guoli and Zou Jingzhi. These are not fixed, a cultural work is like this, and it is rare to shoot word for word according to the original script. Wong Kar-wai, for example, is an extreme example. Change while shooting, change while shooting. It was filmed in 2046 for several years. There are also day traders, such as Du Qifeng, who produce faster. There are also huge differences in production methods and development levels between Hong Kong, Taiwan, foreign countries and China, so let's not talk about them for the time being.

4. The director should shoot the script. Like these famous directors, there is no shortage of funds, and some people have invested a lot. The young director relied on his opportunity. Basically, he has to rely on investment, whether it can be brought in or not, and how much it can be brought in. These problems also involve various factors such as cast, business return and so on. All parties should comprehensively consider the distribution of benefits and the proportion of risk and reward, and finally make a decision, which is the same as doing business.

5. Complete the script and confirm the investment. After the film was approved, the director began to organize the group, and the producer (that is, the person who paid the money often appointed professionals to be the specific production director) also began to work. This happened almost simultaneously. The director is responsible for the artistic quality of the film, and the producer is responsible for the overall operation of a crew, and they cooperate equally. Of course, whoever is awesome will be stronger. This is a special case.

6. The situation of recruiting actors is complicated, and the general principle is determined according to the needs of the film and the wishes of the director. Money, personal relationships and so on are all factors. High flyers from the Film Academy can be an actor, and so can migrant workers. Open recruitment, contact with agents, introduction and occasional meeting are all ways to recruit actors. This is a place where all kinds of life meet, and there is no formula. There are also examples of long-term cooperation, such as Xiaogang Feng and Ge You, Lao Zhang and his girl, and so on.

7. Building a group-joining the group by all departments-launching ceremony-filming-filming is over. This is a rigorous and orderly process, and every day means a lot of money. Various film professionals and technicians often work around the clock, so I won't mention too many details.

8. Post-editing and production are also done by professionals according to the requirements of the film, and are basically done by professional post-production companies. One of the reasons why foreign films look good is that the post-production technology is professional, the equipment is high-end, and the professional technical level is high. If necessary, some domestic films will also be taken abroad for post-production. Of course, the director has always been involved in and controlled this process.

9. Film companies generally don't have cinemas. Film companies produce good films-publishers-cinemas (that is, several cinemas)-for screening. Box office income is divided into a certain proportion. This is the basic distribution and screening mode now. Therefore, a good movie, the cinema is willing to put it on for a few more days. Every cinema will also buy good films into its own cinema. There are also direct sales to publishing houses, which are rare.

10. The well-known publishers in China are Xintu and Huayi Brothers mentioned above. They shoot and distribute, not to mention China Film Group, and there are many more. Well-known cinemas such as New Film Association, Pacific Cinema and Jiahe Cinema. The original local film distribution company and the old cinema are basically playing a role.

That's it. I can't type. I'm exhausted.
