Why are there no female firefighters?

Although men and women are now equal, fire fighting is always a male-dominated occupation. There is no doubt that women will suffer more in physical fitness and strength because of the great demand for fire fighting physical fitness and the certain weight of fire fighting equipment. Moreover, fire fighting is a team work, and physical collision will inevitably occur. If men and women work together, it may cause unnecessary misunderstanding.

It's upstairs. There are first-line female firefighters in Hong Kong, but only at the captain level, because the captain doesn't have to go into the fire, but mainly does command work. But at present, there are only nine front-line female firefighters (including an assistant fire warden) in Hong Kong. In addition, there are female fire brigade (control), female fire chief (control) and female senior fire chief (control), who are mainly responsible for dispatching and communication and do not need to assess physical fitness, so the number is much higher than that of female fire chief in the former action group.

In fact, women have always applied for female firefighters at the grass-roots level, but the Fire Services Department has always adopted the policy of "only recruiting and not hiring" for female firefighters at the grass-roots level for various reasons such as physical fitness and inconvenient mixing of men and women.
