Changshu is located in the east of Jiangsu Province, bordering Shanghai in the east, Suzhou in the south, Wuxi in the west and Nantong across the river in the north. With beautiful mountains and rivers, rich people, developed culture, outstanding people and numerous historical and cultural relics, it is the second batch of national historical and cultural cities announced by the State Council.
Changshu Museum is located at the eastern foot of the scenic ancient city of Yushan, next to the tombs of sages Zhong Yong and Yanzi. It has jurisdiction over Changshu Guqin Art Museum, Wang Shigu Memorial Hall and Qingquan Temple Exhibition Hall. At present, there are more than ten thousand pieces of cultural relics 1. 1, which are divided into calligraphy and painting, porcelain, pottery, jade, metal, miscellaneous, embroidery, seals, stone carvings, inscriptions and ancient cultural relics. There are not only precious physical materials reflecting Changshu's history, culture and people's activities, but also representative art treasures of different times and categories. The total construction area is 9 100 square meter, in which the museum consists of eight exhibition halls, cultural relics warehouses, office buildings and auxiliary rooms. It was officially opened to the public on September 28th, 1997, and was rated as a national second-class museum in 2009.

Changshu Museum now collects more than 6000 pieces (groups) of various cultural relics/kloc-0 from Songze and Liangzhu culture to the period of new democratic revolution, among which paintings, calligraphy, ceramics and jade articles are the main ones. In recent years, cultural relics collections published in China, such as Complete Works of Fine Arts, Jade of Liangzhu, Four Kings' Painting Collection, Wu Changshuo's Painting and Calligraphy Collection, Atlas of Astronomical Cultural Relics of China, Atlas of Cultural Relics of Nanlu, Art of the Six Dynasties, Jiangsu Cultural Relics Essence, Complete Works of Jade Handed Down from China and Complete Works of China Ceramics, all have cultural relics collections of this museum. Calligraphy books, seals, porcelain, jade, ink left by Weng Tonghe, seal of Lin Hao, seal of Zhao, and epitaph unearthed in New China are collected in Changshu Museum. Albums such as Changshu, Jiangsu, Calligraphy Collection of Yushan in Past Dynasties, Collected Paintings in Changshu Museum, and Integration of Archaeological Materials in Changshu, New China have been published one after another.

Besides Changshu, Changshu Museum has held more than 20 exhibitions in Nanjing, Shanghai, Xi, Guangzhou, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Dongguan, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Yiwu, Jinjiang and other cities. "Exhibition of Qing Dynasty Palace Porcelain Collected in Changshu Museum" was listed as one of the seven tour exhibitions in Jiangsu Province on 20 10, and won great social repercussions. It has successively won the honorary titles of Excellent Museum in Jiangsu Province and Advanced Collective of Provincial Cultural Relics System.
