Japanese Type 74 Tank
The design of the Type 74 tank highly considers Japan’s combat environment, and is very distinctive in both its overall design and suspension load-bearing system. It is also the world's first turret-type main battle tank using an adjustable hydropneumatic suspension system.
The design of the Type 74 tank uses the same adjustable suspension system as the MBT-70, the same rolled armor body as the Leopard 1 tank, and the L7A1 main gun; it has a unique design for the commander's rotating command Tower, new main gun automatic loader.
The tank is equipped with an improved version of the British-made L-7A3105mm 51-fold rotary bore gun, which was most widely used in Western tanks at the time, and can use NATO standard shells.
