Description of full-text statistical caliber: 1) Search keywords: big data and similar or related keywords; 2) Search scope: title, abstract and claims; 3) Screening conditions: the simple consanguinity application should be duplicated, the legal status should be substantive examination, authorization, PCT international publication, PCT entering the designated country (designated period), and the simple consanguinity application should be duplicated according to the statistics of the acceptance bureau. 4) Deadline for statistics: 2021September 17. 5) If there is any special statistical caliber, it will be indicated at the bottom of the chart.

1, the regional competition pattern of global big data technology

(1) Distribution of technology source countries: China and the United States account for more than 70% of big data patents in the world.

As of September 20021,17, the world's largest source of big data technology is China, with 254,887 big data patent applications, accounting for 38.55% of the total global big data patent applications. Followed by the United States, the number of big data patent applications in the United States accounted for 34.0 1% of the total global big data patent applications, accounting for more than 70%. Although Japan and South Korea ranked third and fourth, there is a big gap between them and China ranked first and the United States ranked second in patent applications.

Statistical description: ① Make statistics according to the rule that each application displays a public text, and select the latest text of the public date for calculation. (2) According to the statistics of the country with patent priority, if there is no priority, it shall be calculated according to the country where the patent is accepted. If there are more than one priority country, it shall be calculated according to the earliest priority country.

(2) Patent application trend: The number of patent applications in China has increased rapidly, ranking first in the world after 20 15.

From the overall trend, from 20 12 to 2020, the number of big data patent applications in China and the United States is far ahead. Before 20 15, the number of big data patents in the United States was higher than that in China, but it was overtaken by China in 2005, and the number of patent applications in China continued to increase, far exceeding other countries in the world. In 2020, the number of big data patent applications in China reached 554 12, and the number of big data patent applications in the United States dropped to 9353.

The number of big data patent applications in Japan, South Korea and Europe shows a trend of "you chase after me", and the annual patent applications of the three are not much different. In 2020, the patent applications for big data in Japan, South Korea and the European Patent Office were 1033, 4043 and 4 16 respectively.

(3) Distribution of patent applications in China: The patent applications in Beijing and Guangdong are far ahead in China.

Among the provinces and cities in China, Beijing and Guangdong have the largest number of applications for big data patents, with the cumulative number of applications for big data patents reaching 44,224 and 43 149 respectively. The number of big data patent applications in Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Shandong all exceeded 1 10,000. At present, the top ten provinces applying for big data patents in China are Sichuan, Hubei, Henan and Anhui.

Description of statistical caliber: According to the address submitted by the patent applicant.

During the period of 20 10-2020, the overall change trend of big data patent applications in major provinces in China is basically the same, showing a fluctuating upward trend. The number of big data patent applications in Beijing and Guangdong is increasing year by year, far ahead of other provinces. Guangdong Province gradually surpassed Beijing from 20 17, and the number of applications in 2020 exceeded 10000.

The number of big data patent applications in Jiangsu Province has also maintained a high-speed upward trend, exceeding 5,000 in 2020. From 20 10 to 2020, there is little difference in the number of big data patent applications in other provinces.

Description of statistical caliber: According to the address submitted by the patent applicant.

2. The competitive landscape of global big data technology applicants

(1) patent applicant concentration: the market concentration is not high, and CR 10 fluctuates.

From 20 10 to 2020, the number of global big data patent applicants CR 10 showed a trend of first decreasing and then increasing, but the overall fluctuation decreased from 2010./3% to 13.32% in 2020, from 2020.

On the whole, the global concentration of big data patent applicants is low, and the overall concentration has declined, but it has resumed its upward trend in the past two years. It is expected that with the rapid development of global big data industry in the future, the leading effect will be highlighted and the concentration will increase rapidly.

Statistical caliber description: market concentration -Cr 10 is the proportion of the patent applications of the top 10 applicants in the total application volume to the total patent applications in this field (where the number of patents will not be recalculated when there is a joint application).

(2)TOP 10 patent applicant

-Total volume and trend: Samsung Electronics ranks first in the world in cumulative application volume, but Tencent Technology has come from behind in the past two years.

From the ranking of the number of patent applications of applicants, by September 20021,17, Samsung Electronics had applied for 8,548 big data patents, far higher than other companies in the world. In addition, IBM and Tencent Technology have applied for more than 5,000 big data patents in the world, namely 754 1 and 5,756 respectively.

Among them, three companies in China rank among the top ten in global big data patent applications, namely Tencent Technology, State Grid and Huawei, and they are all in the top five.

Note: The number of joint applications is not excluded.

From 2010 to 2020, the patent applications of the top ten enterprises in the world fluctuated obviously. Except Tencent Technology, the patent applications of other enterprises decreased obviously in the past two years. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., which ranks first in the world in the cumulative number of patent applications, maintained a high-speed growth in 20 16-20 19, but it declined in 2020, and fell to1/06 in 2020.

In the past two years, the growth rate of big data patent applications is the most obvious in China Tencent Technology, and its big data patent applications have greatly increased from 557 in 20 19 to 2,662, with a year-on-year increase of 377.92%, making it the largest enterprise in the world.

-Distribution of patented technologies: Enterprises have different technological layout priorities.

At present, the total number of patent applications in the global big data industry is TOP 10, and the applicants' technologies are mainly distributed in G06F 17 and H04L 12.

From the perspective of the technical layout of enterprises, the technical emphasis of each enterprise is different. The technical classification number of Samsung Electronics with the largest number of patent applications in the world is H04W72, and the technical fields of Tencent Technology in China are G06F 16 and G06K9.

(3) TOP 10 patent applicant with the highest market value: Apple ranks first, and the market value of the top ten patents all exceeds10 million.

Among the top ten patents with the highest market value of big data in the world, the patent of "Time Division Duplex (TDD) carrier aggregation System Periodic Channel Status Information Report" applied by Apple has the highest market value, reaching $65,438+$05.32 million. Among the top ten data patents, their market values all exceed10 million dollars, and the market value gap of each patent is relatively small.

Note: The most valuable patent refers to the simple family with the highest patent value in this technical field. At present, the statistical caliber is to select any patent with patent value in the same family for display according to the rule of excluding the duplication of a patent representative in each simple family.

(4) New entrants to patent application: All three new entrants are China enterprises.

In 20021year, there were three new entrants in the global big data industry, all of which were China enterprises. It can be seen that the growth space of China's big data industry is huge. The number of patent applications of Xinhua Sanhe Alipay has increased year by year, reaching 224 and 194 respectively in 2020; The number of big data patent applications of China Ping An Life Insurance Company of China Insurance Company fluctuates greatly, and it will be 162 in 2020.

Definition of new entrant: an applicant who has only submitted a patent application in the past five years.
